Genelia D'Souza Talks About Salman Not Taking Her In The Hindi Remake Of 'Ready', 'It Was My Film..'

When we think about some of the best comedy films in Bollywood, Ready's name is often among the topic choices. Starring Salman Khan and Asin in the lead roles, the film took audiences on a laughter riot with situational comedy, catchy songs like Dhinka Chika and a wonderful joint family set-up. However, not many people know that the film was a Hindi remake of a Telugu hit film of the same name released back in 2008. It originally starred Ram Pothineni with Genelia D'Souza, and recently, the actress shared her feelings about not being a part of the Hindi remake of the film.

Genelia D'Souza reveals she would have loved to be a part of Salman Khan's Ready 

Genelia D'Souza sat down for an interview with Siddharth Kannan wherein she was asked if she ever felt bad that despite the original Ready being her film, she didn't get to be a part of its Hindi remake. For those unaware, Asin played Genelia's role in the Salman Khan film, where the audience praised her comic timings and lighthearted moments with the superstar. In her turn, Genelia clarified that she never felt bad about it. Sharing her feelings, Genelia said:

"No, not at all. I would've loved to do it, of course, because it was my film down south, and I really enjoyed it."

At the same time, the actress shared that maybe it didn't happen because there could be another film for her and Salman in the future. For those unaware, Genelia and her husband, Riteish Deshmukh, have shared a good bond with Salman Khan. At the same time, the latter has also made special appearances in the couple's home-production films.

Will there be a Ready 2 with Salman Khan?

The audiences undoubtedly enjoyed watching Ready's Hindi version which Anees Bazmee directed. A few months ago, the filmmaker was asked in an interview with Zoom if there was a sequel to the iconic film on cards. In his reply, Anees explained that the lead actor, Salman Khan's comedy timing was wonderful in the film and if they can do it again, it would make a wonderful film. So, they would surely think about making Ready 2 because he would like to collaborate with Salman Khan again. In his words:

"We will definitely give it a thought. I would love to work with Salman Khan again. My films with him have been memorable. Ready to superhit thi hi aur No Entry is a cult film."

More about Ready 

The 2011 film, Ready was a Hindi language film produced by T-Series, Sohail Khan, Eros International and more. It featured actors like Salman Khan, Asin, Paresh Rawal, Mahesh Manjrekar, and more. The film received a mixed response from the critics but turned out to be a massive commercial success.
