Girija Oak Godbole is an Indian actress best known for her roles in films such as Taare Zameen Par and Jawan. She has worked in both Marathi and Hindi cinema. Recently, an interview featuring her has gone viral, in which she was seen wearing a blue saree with a white sleeveless blouse. While many praised her and showered love on her for her simplicity, there has been a section of people who have spread AI-morphed vulgar pictures of her. Now, the Jawan actress has reacted to it.
On November 13, 2025, Girija Oak Godbole took to her Instagram handle and shared a heartfelt message in a video. At the beginning of the clip, the Taare Zameen Par actress said that the past three days have been 'crazy' and 'great' in equal measure. She expressed that she has been processing the sudden love and attention. The actress noted that she has been receiving lovely comments and messages from people who have seen her social media posts. She added that all these things have been overwhelming. In her words:
"What has been happening on social media for the past three days has been absolute madness. It’s crazy and great in equal parts. Suddenly, I have so much attention, and I am trying to figure out how to process it. At the same time, there’s so much love coming my way. So many lovely comments, messages, and phone calls from people who have seen my posts on Instagram or other social media platforms. It has been overwhelming the amount of love I am receiving."

In the same video, Girija expressed discomfort over some AI-generated images of herself. She mentioned that those pictures were objectionable beyond comfort. She highlighted that, as an active social media user, she is well aware of online trends. She explained how the viral game works. She was quoted as saying:
"Some of them are also AI-morphed images of me, which are not in great taste. They are s*xualised and objectified beyond comfort, and this bothers me. When something becomes viral, something is trending. These kinds of images generally get made and get circulated as long as people are clicking on your post and you’re getting enough likes, interactions and views. That’s serving your purpose. We all know how this game is played."

Further, in the video, Girija expressed her concern as a mother of a 12-year-old son. She shared that when her son grows up and has access to these vulgar images of her, what he might feel. She highlighted her worries as these AI-morphed images will remain on the internet forever. She added that many know the images are not real and have been edited with AI. She was quoted as saying:
"He does not use social media right now, but eventually he will. Once he grows up, he’s going to have access to these images because they may be circulating right now, but they’re going to remain on the internet forever. These obscene images of his mother-he’s going to see them one day, and it worries me, scares me, bothers me to think how he is going to feel about them. He will know that these are not real images and that they are morphed with the help of AI. This is scary."
