Govinda And Sunita Ahuja Put An End To Their Divorce Rumours, Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi Together

For the past many days, Govinda and his wife, Sunita, have been garnering the headlines for the rumours of their split. It was stated that Sunita had filed for a divorce at the Bandra Family Court, where she cited cruelty, desertion and adultery. And now, amid the buzz of their split, the duo has been papped together.

On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Govinda and Sunita unite and celebrate the festival with each other. The couple was spotted outside their home, distributing sweets to paps and immersed in the essence of the festival. Sunita looked beautiful in a maroon-coloured silk saree, on the other hand, Govinda complemented her in a matching kurta-pajama.

They also greeted the paps stationed outside their home, and the actor revealed that he prayed for his children, Yash and Tina. The actor also revealed that he wished his kids to reach the heights that he has achieved, and that too without anyone’s support. After distributing sweets, Govinda and Sunita posed for the paps while putting an end to their divorce rumours.

Why did Govinda and Sunita’s divorce buzz resurface in the media?

According to a recent report by Hauterrfly, Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce from Govinda in December 2024 at the Bandra family court. She moved the case under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion as grounds.

Govinda was reportedly called by the court on May 25, 2025, and since June 2025, the couple has been undergoing court-mandated counselling. The same report also revealed that while Sunita Ahuja has been constantly attending the court hearings, Govinda has been missing them.

Govinda's manager spoke about their divorce

Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, in an interview with PTI, shared that the rumours of the couple’s divorce are old news that came out six to seven months back. Sunita had filed a divorce petition six to seven months ago; now everything is getting settled. In a week or so, everyone will hear the news, he stated. Govinda's manager also revealed that the family was getting ready to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi together and wrote:

"The whole family is going to celebrate the Ganesh Chaturthi festival together, for which Sunita is busy doing the preparation."

Govinda got married to his wife, Sunita, in March 1987. They have been together for almost 37 years. However, reports of their divorce made rounds on February 25, 2025. A source close to the couple revealed that Sunita wants to end her marriage with Govinda. She had even sent a separation notice, but there has been no movement on it since then.
