Govinda's Wife, Sunita Ahuja Shares Of Being Jealous, Engaged When He Got His First Film, 'Mujhe..'

Govinda has been one of the most celebrated stars of the 90s in Hindi cinema. His movies showcased his impeccable dance movies and comedy chops, which were unmatched. The actor, who is at the moment faded from the Bollywood industry, is touting headlines because of his alleged divorce from his wife, Sunita Ahuja. The couple has been married for 37 years and has been giving separate interviews lately. Recently, Sunita shared how jealous she was when Govinda got his first Hindi film.

Sunita Ahuja reveals being engaged and feeling jealous when Govinda got his first film

Sunita recently sat down for an interview with Curly Tales and confessed to being jealous when Govinda got his first film. She revealed that she got a role in his debut movie, Tan Badan, and when the actor had got the film, she was already engaged to him. She revealed a feeling of jealousy as her jijaji was about to give her the movie. In her words:

"I was very jealous. Yeh picture mujhe mila tha karne ke liye. Yeh mere jijaji ka picture hai. He offered me first. I said meko picture mei interest nai hai. Mujhe etna mehnat karna nai hai so then he approached Khushboo. Eske muharat mei I met Govinda. Pehle ghar pe struggle kar raha tha teen saal. Mere sister ke ghar pe rehta tha Virar se. I told him, 'Aye tu hero ban raha hai saale kya baat hai with Khushboo. He said aye bakwas mat kar, tere saath affair chal raha hai na re."

For the unversed, Sunita's elder sister is married to Govinda's maternal uncle, Anand Singh. It is said that the director introduced Govinda to movies and gave him his debut, Tan-Badan. Sunita was excited for Govinda's debut but was worried as Khushboo was there. She further stated:

"Meko jijaji ne bataya. Tu nai kar rahi toh mei kisi aur ko le leta hu. Naya naya pyar tha. Now I am not jealous of Khushbu. Pehle jealousy nai hota tha round the clock kaam karta ths. Abhi bola na 60."

When Govinda was struggling, he used to reside with his uncle and did the same for three years. Sunita always made it a point to visit her jiju. Since both Govinda and Sunita were young-blooded, they used to fight a lot due to their contrasting personalities. Sunita, once in an interview with Time Out with Ankit podcast, shared that she first saw Govinda at her sister's wedding. He was in his final year of B.Com, and she was in class 9. Sunita had taken the challenge to impress Govinda and had shared:

"My brother-in-law told me that Govinda was from Virar, a simple man who loved his mother a lot. He also mentioned that no girl could impress him. I remember wondering what kind of boy he was that no girl could impress him. When I told my brother-in-law I could, he said it was impossible. So, I asked him what if I did, and he challenged me to prove it first."
