Govinda Spoke About His Second Marriage When Attracted To Divya Bharti, 'Sunita Should Be Prepared'

Over the decades, Indian cinema has witnessed a lot of legendary superstars who have mesmerised us with their acting skills, dancing skills, dialogue delivery, and physique. One such exceptional actor is Govinda, who has won millions of hearts with his brilliant comic timing and dance moves. He was one of the highest-paid actors of the 90s.

On the personal front, Govinda married his girlfriend, Sunita, on March 11, 1987, in an intimate temple wedding ceremony and kept it a secret from the media for four years. It was only after the arrival of their daughter, Tina Ahuja, that the couple announced the news of their marriage to the world. Soon, the couple became parents again when they welcomed their son, Yashvardhan.

Govinda and Sunita’s marriage has witnessed many ups and downs, and one of the major reasons for the same is Govinda’s past affairs. Not just this, the actor has openly confessed his feelings for his co-actresses. One such confession of Govinda that caught him off guard was for the late actress, Divya Bharti.

When Govinda confessed about being attracted to Divya Bharti

In a throwback interview with Stardust, Govinda talked about his fondness for the gorgeous Divya Bharti while he was married to Sunita. The actor then revealed that he was resisting Divya’s charms and said:

“Well, I am a firm believer in destiny. What has to happen, will happen. Yes, I like Juhi a lot. Even Divya Bharati. Divya is a very sensuous girl. It's difficult for a man to resist her. I know Sunita is going to be very upset with all this. But she should know that I am still resisting Divya's charms. I haven't given in to the temptation as yet.”

Govinda spoke about the chances of a second marriage

Not just this, in the same interview, the actor spoke about the chances of a second marriage if he gets involved with Divya. Stating that his wife, Sunita, should be prepared for it, Govinda continued:

“Tomorrow, who knows, I may get involved again, and then, maybe I will marry the girl I get involved with. But Sunita should be prepared for it. Only then will I feel free. And there is a second marriage in my Kundli.”

When Govinda was linked with Rani Mukerji

Not just Divya, Govinda was also allegedly involved with actress, Rani Mukerji. It was during the making of the film, Hadh Kar Di Aapne when Govinda met Rani. The two bonded well during the film's shooting in locations abroad, such as Switzerland and the US. According to various reports, the two had come quite close and had started being in touch after the wrap. Soon, reports of Govinda having an extra-marital affair with Rani had become the talk of the town. 

Govinda and Sunita’s divorce rumours

As per the recent news, Govinda and Sunita are reportedly heading for divorce after 37 years of marriage. Unnamed sources claim that Govinda and Sunita are in the final stages of their divorce. The couple’s ongoing disagreements and different lifestyle choices are one of the reasons for their separation. Sources also claim that Govinda’s closeness to a 30-year-old Marathi actress is another reason.
