Amid Divorce Buzz, Govinda's Wife, Ssunita Reveals Why She Dropped Her Husband's Surname From IG

Govinda's wife, Ssunita Ahuja often grabs the headlines with her straightforward responses, and while some like it, others don't. For the same reason, Ssunita often gets trolled for one reason or another. For the unversed, Govinda got married to Ssunita in 1987, and they are parents to two children. It was a few months ago, when reports claimed that the couple had decided to part ways as husband and wife. Later, Ssunita dismissed the buzz, but it again got ignited as she dropped her husband's surname 'Ahuja' from her IG and added an extra 'S' to her name.

While some thought that the separation buzz between Govinda and Ssunita Ahuja was true, and the latter hinted at the same with the changes on IG, she recently revealed the truth. The Times Of India reached out to her and questioned her about these alterations on her username on IG. Sunita, who now goes by the name, Ssunita, clarified that she made the changes to her username on IG, solely due to numerological beliefs.

Ssunita mentioned that it was suggested to her that she should remove her surname and add an extra 'S' to her name to gain fame. When asked if making the changes actually brought name and fame to her, Ssunita stated that it actually did, and the example was the massive virality she got in the last few months. She also revealed that she made the changes around a year back. She said:

"I removed Ahuja and added an extra 'S' in my first name. But this change happened almost a year ago. It was done purely for numerology purpose. I want name and fame, who doesn't right?"

Ssunita, in the same interview, mentioned that she is and will always be an 'Ahuja', and the day she will leave it, will be the day she will leave the world. She further mentioned that she hadn't dropped her surname in actuality, and it was just for IG that she depended on the numerology. Dismissing the divorce buzz around her and Govinda, Ssunita stated that they have a happy family and people shouldn't believe in anything speculated unless it comes directly from them. To quote Ssunita:

“I am an Ahuja, and that won’t change. The surname will only be dropped when I leave the world.”

Govinda and Ssunita have been married for 38 years, and the speculation about their separation began when the latter, in an interview, talked about living separately from each other. Following this, speculations began and intensified, with Ssunita's lawyer saying that she had filed a notice six months back. Buzz claimed that a possible extra-marital affair might have caused the split between the couple.

Ssunita, although dismissed the split buzz with Govinda, initially didn't react to the extra-marital affair rumours. In an interview with Zoom, Ssunita addressed the same. She stated that if anything like this happens, then they will reveal the news to the media by themselves, but neither she nor her husband can live without each other. Ssunita stated that she doesn't think that Govinda can ever leave his wife and kids for any stupid person.
