Govinda Shares Not Getting Support When He Slapped A Fan And Got In Legal Mess For 9 Years

Bollywood veteran actor, Govinda has been in controversies many times after hogging the limelight because of his alleged split from his wife, Sunita Ahuja. The actor recently recollected one of the most challenging times of his life, which had made him fall into a legal soup. The actor, in a state of anger during the shooting of his movie, Money Hai To Honey Hai, slapped a fan in anger.

Govinda reveals receiving no support after he slapped a fan

The actor who is also a politician had to face the wrath of a legal battle for around 8-9 years post the slap incident. This is because the victim wanted an apology from the actor after he approached the court. During a recent conversation with Mukesh Khanna, Govinda shared how he did not get any support at any time after the slapping fan incident. In his words:

"I submitted proofs against the victim named Santosh in the court. However, the women were saying me that he is a good person, please don’t do anything wrong to him. I was so thankful to God. Maine Dekhliya ki Nobody supported me. Ek thappad Ke Case mei kisi ka support nahi hai… Toh Jo humare wajah se khade hain wo hamare piche khade hai.

Govinda further revealed that such incidents lowered one's self-confidence and made one feel very underconfident. The actor could never be free from the chain of controversies and the slap incident landed him in a terrible state at court. He had hardly expected that one thappad from his side could make him go to court for around 8-9 years.

When Govinda slapped his die-hard fan, Santosh, in 2008

It was in the late 2000s when Govinda's stardom was on cloud nine, and his fans waited to see him whenever they got a chance. There were die-hard fans who waited to see the actor perform live on a set in Mumbai. Back in 2008, Govinda was shooting for Money Hai Toh Honey Hai movie and Santosh, a big fan, was waiting to see the movie's shooting. However, for the fan, the dream come true moment got ugly when he got a tight slap from the actor.

When Santosh opened up about being slapped by Govinda

Santosh was left shocked as the person whom he considered his idol gave him a slap. During a conversation with Rediff, Santosh revealed the emotional chaos he underwent after he was assaulted by Govinda, whom he considered his idol. It is said that Santosh was caught misbehaving on the sets of the movie. Santosh had said:

"Imagine being hit by someone you considered god.”

Earlier, in an interview with the Times Of India, Govinda said that he had taken the step to slap Santosh after he was caught misbehaving with the female dancers on the sets of the show. Govinda shared that Santosh was trying to get too close to the girls and he felt he had to take a stand. The Supreme Court had also told Govinda that his films could be tolerated, but he slapping somebody could not be tolerated.
