Gracie Abrams And Paul Mescal's Relationship, From Being Spotted At Dinner To Red Carpet Events

Daughter of director J.J. Abrams, Gracie Abrams, is one of the most popular American singer-songwriters in today's age. Most of her songs, which are on the emotional side, appeal to listeners because of their relatability. Since Gracie writes and sings so often about love, many have wondered if she takes inspiration from her own relationship. For those unaware, the singer is currently dating renowned Irish actor, Paul Mescal, whom you might recognise from his breakout role in the 2020 series, Normal People. Gracie Abrams was first linked to her now-boyfriend, Paul Mescal, a year ago in June 2024. This was after the duo was spotted grabbing a meal together at London's BRAT Restaurant. According to photos obtained by TMZ, Gracie and Paul were sitting together at a table by the restaurant's window. In one of the photos, Paul can even be seen reaching out his hand and touching the That's So True singer's face.  

Since the timing of these pictures coincided with the release of Gracie's second studio album, The Secret of Us, many of her fans at the time speculated that she was referencing her own relationship with the actor in some of her songs. In particular, they believed that her song, Normal Thing's title is an ode to Paul's breakout role in Hulu's Normal People. Some of the lyrics in the song go:

“It's a normal thing to fall in love with movie stars / When the lights are low, and red at all their favourite bars.”

Just two months later, on August 18, 2024, Gracie and Paul were papped once again when they were seen walking around London holding hands. As per reports and photos obtained by Deuxmoi and Daily Mail, they were spotted in London's Mayfair neighbourhood, allegedly “kissing a lot.” Their cute dynamic came through in one picture where Gracie jokingly bit Paul's finger. The couple ended their day by attending the All Points East music festival at Victoria Park in the city. While enjoying the music, Paul was also photographed wrapping his arm around Gracie.  

A source close to Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal reveals that the two are “h**king up” in August 2024 

While the internet was buzzing with excitement over Gracie and Paul's rumoured romance, a source told People in August that fans' speculation was indeed correct. In fact, they were only at the beginning stages of their relationship. To quote the source: 

“They've been hooking up and it's still early stages.”  

Paul Mescal was seen attending Gracie Abrams' concert in October 2024 

Gracie and Paul's relationship was way more than just a summer fl**g, and this was proved when the actor went to support his rumoured girlfriend during her The Secret of Us concert. Paul could be seen having a jolly time dancing and singing along to her performance, which was held at City Music Hall in New York City. At the time, a source told People that the duo is “going strong.” On the same day as the concert, that is on October 4, 2024, the Daily Mail obtained photos of Paul kissing Gracie on the forehead as they strolled through the city. 

Paul Mescal and Grace Abrams had a date night during the Gladiator II premiere in November 2024 

According to reports, Paul and Gracie did not walk the red carpet together for the movie, Gladiator II's premiere. However, Paul, who plays the lead role in the movie, did bring Gracie to the Los Angeles premiere as his date. Later, on the night of November 18, 2024, the film's official TikTok gave fans a glimpse of the couple posing together at the premiere's afterparty.  

In December 2024, Paul Mescal was seen supporting Gracie Abrams for her Saturday Night Live performance  

December 14, 2024, marked Gracie's debut performance on the popular late-night show, Saturday Night Live. At the show's afterparty in New York City, Gracie and Paul were seen holding hands and making their way out of a black van toward the building entrance.  

Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal look loved up at Glastonbury in June 2025 

Fast-forward to June 29, 2025: Gracie and Paul were seen attending the Glastonbury Festival in England. Here, they appeared to be singing along to The Cure's Friday I'm In Love, performed by singer, Olivia Rodrigo. In one of the photos that Gracie shared on her official Instagram account, she can be seen sitting on her boyfriend's shoulders. Coming to her outfit, she went for a casual look with a cropped white T-shirt, black pants, a red bandana, and sunglasses. Paul, on the other hand, can be seen sporting a black top, a matching baseball cap, and sunglasses.
