The Grammys are considered as one of the most prestigious awards in the music industry worldwide. Every country has their own music awards, but the Grammy Awards given by The Recording Academy of the United States hold a special place in world music. Just like every year, the 66th Grammy Awards were held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
On the 'music's biggest night', the Emmy Awards, Taylor Swift won the Album of the Year Award for Midnights, becoming the first performer to win it four times. Miley Cyrus won Record of the Year for Flowers, and Billie Eilish's song, What Was I Made For? was named as the Song of the Year. However, it was a big night for the Indian music industry too as tabla maestro, Zakir Hussain and iconic singer, Shankar Mahadevan won the Best Global Music Album for The Moment (Shakti Album).

Not only this, Zakir Hussain also grabbed two more Grammy Awards for Pashto (Best Global Music Performance) and As We Speak (Best Contemporary Instrumental Album). It was a proud moment for every Indian to see our music legends making their mark on the international stage. Over the years, India has produced a series of exceptionally talented musicians, but it was legendary sitarist, Ravi Shankar, who was the first Indian to win a Grammy Award.
Everyone is aware of the iconic composer, Ravi Shankar's illustrious career, as he was also regarded as the world's best-known expert of North Indian classical music. While people are aware of India's first man to win a Grammy Award, only a few know the name of India's first woman who won the Grammy Award. Whenever this question comes in front of people, most of them take the names of Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, KS Chitra, P. Susheela, S. Janaki, Vani Jairam, and many others.

Well, none of these legendary singers won it, but it is Tanvi Shah, who is India's first woman to win the prestigious Grammy Award back in 2010. During the 52nd Grammy Awards at Staples Centre in Los Angeles, Slumdog Millionaire's song, Jai Ho, was named the Best Song Written for Motion Picture or Other Visual Media for her Spanish lyrics.
The ace singer shared the award with the composer, AR Rahman and lyricist, Gulzar. It was a massive milestone for the 25-year-old, Tanvi's singing career as she became the first Indian woman to win this coveted award.

After winning the Emmy Award in 2010, Tanvi Shah worked with the iconic American rapper, Snoop Dogg in the song, Snoop Dogg Millionaire. It wasn't her only international project, as she also teamed up with a series of famous global music producers like Jeremy Hawkins, Che Pope, David Batteau, and many more.
While Tanvi grabbed a lot of recognition on the international stage, she sang a lot of songs in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. Some of her notable songs include the likes of Fanaa, Pappu Can't Dance, Rehna Tu, Boom Boom Roboda, Mawwali Qawwali, Keda Kari, and many more.

Apart from being an incredibly talented singer, Tanvi Shah is also a renowned entrepreneur, who owns a skincare brand by the name of Tansha Studios. The brand provides a lot of natural skincare products which are free from harsh chemicals like sulphates, parabens, and aluminium.
Once, in an interview with edexlive.com, Tanvi opened up about her cosmetic brand, Tansha Studios and revealed that she decided to build her own cosmetic brand after a doctor prescribed her to use some steroids for her perspiration problems. She said:
"It gives me utmost joy when a customer reaches out to me saying that my products have helped them fight negativity and transformed them in some way. This what keeps me going."
Sharing how she was searching for a natural product to deal with body odour but couldn't find one without any chemicals. As a result, she founded her own cosmetic brand and started her journey as an entrepreneur. While talking about her best-selling product, Pit Pod, which is a natural deodorant, Tanvi revealed that she use a formulation of avocado butter, mango butter and some essential oils to prepare it. She said:
"The products not only make your skin or body feel good but also relax the mind. Essential oils are known to have healing properties."
