The Punjabi music industry loses one more gem as one of the notable singers, Gurmeet Maan, passed away on October 10, 2025. He was battling heart problems and kidney damage. The iconic Punjabi singer had undergone stenting three to four years ago, but his health deteriorated a week ago, taking him away forever. He was best known for his notable voice, which reflected the life of rural Punjabi, and resonated well with audiences who admired his simplicity and authentic storytelling. His death shook the Punjab industry, especially after the recent passing of Rajvir Jawanda and Varinder Singh Ghuman. While his professional achievements have been widely celebrated, much of his personal life, including details about his family, has remained largely private, sparking curiosity among fans and media alike.
Gurmeet's wife’s name and identity have not been disclosed publicly. As per some reports, she served as a Sub-Inspector in the Punjab Police. Just like Gurmeet, his wife was part of government services. She was allegedly dedicated to her duty, and together, she and Gurmeet managed their family with strength and understanding.
Gurmeet has always kept his family away from the limelight, but according to reports, he has two children. Both his children are part of the industry and are earning success from their work, as reported. He has a son and a daughter. His son, Gaurav Maan, is based in Canada and has played a key role in taking his father’s musical legacy to international platforms, ensuring that Gurmeet’s songs continue to reach global audiences. On the other hand, his daughter Gunbi Maan always follows his father’s artistic footsteps and has been working in Hindi cinema and the Tollywood industry. She is also a singer and shares a deep love for music.
Punjabi singer, Gurmeet was born in the village of Ropar, Punjab, in the year 1968. He was not just a part of the Punjabi music industry; he was also a part of the Punjab Police and served as an ASI. People of Punjab loved his voice, and some of his notable songs include Boliyaan, Boli Main Pawan, and Kake Dian Purhian, among several others.

Since the 1990s, Gurmeet Maan had been active in folk singing, comedy, and production, keeping Punjabi culture vibrant and alive through his art. His estimated net worth was reportedly around Rs 28.1 crores, although some sources suggest approximately Rs 2.74 crores; the exact figure remains unclear. Most of his earnings came from stage shows, music albums, and live performances, which made him a respected and successful figure in the Punjabi entertainment industry.
Gurmeet had been struggling with a heart problem and kidney damage for several years. He underwent a stenting procedure a few years back. His last rites were performed at his ancestral village, Hardowal, in Gurdaspur district.
