Haarsh Limbachiya Ran Away From Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Set After He Saw The Fimmaker Abuse Someone

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter, editor and music composer. The multi-talented director has received several awards, including Padma Shri. Sanjay is best known for his use of aesthetics and musical vision in the portrayal of period dramas. Some of his most popular releases include Guzaarish, Black, and Padmavat.

Haarsh Limbachiyaa ran away from the sets of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela

Perfection comes at a cost, and for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, it came with being a hard taskmaster on set. There have been stories of the infamous filmmaker yelling and abusing his actors and assistants on set for years. Actor-comedian, Haarsh Limbachiyaa sat for a conversation on YouTube, Bharti TV recalled his experience with the filmmaker. 

Haarsh Limachiyaa recalled the set of the film, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. The film starred Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in lead roles, and Richa Chadha, Sharad Kelkar, Supriya Pathak, and Gulshan Devaiah were also starring in supporting roles. Haarsh revealed that being on such a massive set was a first for him, and Sanjay has 12-13 assistants. However, it was when he saw Sanjay abuse another assistant that he decided to leave. He revealed:

"For the first time, I saw Bhansali’s set. He had some 12-13 assistants. I saw him abuse someone, and I came back immediately. After I returned, the person who introduced us, Bhansali, abused him a lot. 'See, that boy ran away'. I said I can’t be in a place where people abuse me. I got out right then."

Haarsh Limbachiyaa revealed how he impressed Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Haarsh revealed that after a script narration, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was impressed by him and offered him a role as his assistant. The comedian recalled that he had narrated Sanjay a double-meaning sex comedy script, which the latter found hilarious. Haarsh shared that he was on cloud nine after receiving validation from a veteran actor, so he left his gigs and joined the director. He was quoted saying:

"I met Sanjay Leela Bhansali many years ago and narrated a double-meaning sex comedy script to him. I don’t know why, but I narrated it to him, and he laughed so much. He said, ‘Haarsh, I can’t produce this, but this is very good. You should come and assist me, I see something in you’. I left everything I was doing on TV. I was doing Comedy Circus then. And I landed on the set of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela."

Who is Haarsh Limbachiyaa?

For the unversed, Haarsh Limbachiyaa works as a screenwriter, producer and television host. He has written for various comedy shows, including Comedy Circus Ke Tansen and Comedy Nights Live. He also wrote lyrics for the title track of the film, Malang and has hosted several shows, including Kharta Khatra Khatra and Hum Tum Aur Quarantine. The comedian owns a production company, H3. He married the comedian, Bharti Singh on December 3, 2017, and shares a beautiful baby boy with her, whom they welcomed in April 2022. They named their child, Laksh Singh Limbachiyaa and lovingly call him 'Golla'.
