South Indian actress, Hansika Motwani, made headlines when reports surfaced of her and her husband, Sohael Khaturiya, experiencing a rough patch in their marriage. While Hansika never addressed the matter, Sohael denied the speculations. But it is worth mentioning that Hansika had deleted or archived all her wedding pictures while her husband made his IG private. Amidst it, Hansika changed her surname, re-igniting the buzz.

Hansika left her fans curious when she made a small but easily noticeable change to her surname. Her fans quickly pointed out the update. Hansika changed her surname 'Motwani' spelling on Instagram, and her new name can be read as 'Motwanni'. Hansika took to her YouTube channel and shared a video. She revealed that here her 'life update' and revealed that a lot happened in 2025.

So, her mother, Mona Motwani, asked her to change the spelling of her surname. Hansika revealed that they had arguments and discussions on the same, and in the end, she had to agree on the matter. So, she asked her fans, followers, and trolls to use the new spelling of her surname. She further took a jibe that 'rest personal life is personal'.

Hansika married businessman, Sohael Khaturiyain December 2022. They had a grand wedding ceremony at Jaipur's Mundota Fort, and it was documented and featured on JioHotstar. The title of the docuseries was Love, Shaadi, Drama, and gave fans a glimpse of Hansika's dreamy fairytale celebration. 

It is worth mentioning that Sohael proposed to Hansiak in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. However, in 2025, buzz about their divorce surfaced after Hansika removed wedding pitures from her Instagram. Further sources claimed that Hansika had moved out of the home she was living with Sohael. She is back to her mother's palce. Sohael also set his profile private.
