After giving several hit and iconic films, powerful performers, Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam are all set to give Bollywood one of its most powerful courtroom dramas of recent times. For those who don't know, the two are all set to appear in the film, Haq, directed by Suparn S. Verma. The film that is based on Jigna Vora’s book Bano: Bharat Ki Beti has been making a lot of headlines because of its plot. Amid the buzz, read on to know much did Emraan and Yami charge for their role.
The film, Haq marks the first collaboration of Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam in a courtroom drama. While the Uri: The Surgical Strike actress has often played serious roles in films, Haq is one of those rare films in which viewers will see Emraan in a serious role. Recently, a report by News 24 revealed that the amount the lead actors charged for their role.

Reportedly, Emraan Hashmi took home Rs. 12 crore for his role as 'Mohammed Ahmad Khan'. On the other hand, Yami Gautam also took Rs. 12 crore for playing 'Shah Bano Begum'. Apart from the lead cast, Sheeba Chadha has been paid Rs. 1 crore for her role, according to the same report by News 24.

The film, Haq is a hard-hitting courtroom drama, which focuses on a woman's legal battle for justice. The film follows Yami Gautam's character, who takes her husband (Emraan Hashmi) to court after he abandons her and her children, sparking a public debate about law, faith and women’s rights. Apart from the lead cast, the film stars Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Husain, Aseem Hattangady and debutant, Vartika Singh. The film is all set to release in theatres on November 7, 2025.

Days before the theatrical release of the film, Haq, it was hit with a legal challenge from the daughter and legal heir of Shah Bano. Reportedly, she has demanded a stay on the movie’s release, saying the producers used her mother’s life story without permission. The petition also claims that Haq hurts Muslim sentiments and portrays a negative and misogynistic image. The case proceedings will start soon.

Days ago, during a conversation with ANI, Murder 2 actor, Emraan Hashmi has opened up about the controversies around the film and had shared that he is a Muslim too and he said yes to the film after seeing it from his point of view. He had shared:
"As a liberal Muslim, I can say that I had no problems with the viewpoint of the film. Because we are not maligning any community, if we were, I wouldn't have done this film. I married Parveen, who is a Hindu. Meri family mein mere bete puja bhi karte hai, namaaz bhi padhte hai. This is my secular upbringing. So, from my point of view, I am watching this film."
