The final moments of Hazbin Hotel Season 2 have left the doors open for a shakup from Hell. After spending the entire season sowing seeds of discord, the 'Vees' and strategic manoeuvring, 'Alastor' has finally executed the last phase of his plan, freeing him from 'Rosie'. However, what's next now that he is free to do whatever he wants? Well, the voice behind 'Alastor' has revealed just that.
In an interview with ComicBook, Amir Talai, the voice behind 'Alastor', has answered the question everyone has been thinking about since the finale. While he couldn't reveal much about Season 3, the actor confirmed that the coming season would explore 'Alastor's' newfound freedom and how that relates to his complex relationship with 'Charlie Morningstar', the Princess of Hell. Talking about what's next, Talai said:
"I know exactly what you can expect. And that's, that's what Season 3 is about."

During the conversation, Amir Talai also addressed 'Alastor's' connection with 'Charlie'. The character's actions have been contradictory and confusing throughout the season. A perfect example of this is when he makes a deal with 'Vox' to become his prisoner, with one important, non-negotiable caveat: "You are not to lay a hand on Charlie Morningstar." However, whether this is a protective instinct or merely a calculated ploy, only time will tell. Talking about 'Alastor's' connections, Talai stated:
"I think that villains, or characters of all kinds, often have ulterior motives. But it's really interesting to imagine that they have an ulterior motive that completely subsumes the fact that they're a person, right? I think that you can go into it and say, 'Oh, I'm going to use Rosie. I'm going to use Vox. I'm going to use Charlie.' That's all well and good on paper. But then, when you get down to it, these are people, and you're a person. And if you're incapable of forming connections with other people, you're not a very interesting character."

In the same conversation, Amir Talai further revealed that the internal tug-of-war will serve as the foundation of the mystery Season 3 must address. The voice artist reflected on whether 'Alastor's' concern for 'Charlie' was real or just an act. He revealed that the next season will also explore that and see how his decisions will impact both 'Alastor' and 'Charlie'. Talai stated that it would be "interesting things for Alastor to deal with and for the audience to deal with, with respect to Alastor."

Another thing that the fans have been keeping an eye on is 'Alastor's' complicated dynamics with 'Charlie's' father, 'Lucifer' Morningstar', the King of Hell. He views 'Alastor' with disdain and suspicion from the moment the two meet in the first season, a sentiment which the latter reciprocates with one of his trademark grins. This strange rivalry, according to Amir Talai, is part of a deliberate and tense plot point to come. He further suggests that a literal turf war over who gets to have 'Chalie's' trust and attention will be equal parts comedic relief and serious dramatic stakes.

While 'Lucifer' views 'Alastor' as a pest influencing his daughter and hanging around the hotel without purpose, the latter seems to enjoy poking the all-powerful fallen angel genuinely. Amir Talai noted that the dynamics between the two were not just a running lag but also raised questions about the source of their rivalry and 'Alastor's' ultimate motivation. He was quoted as saying:
"It's great. I also like that it becomes a question for the audience as well—' why is [Alastor] doing that?' Is there something personal with Lucifer, or is there a larger goal behind getting close to Charlie? I love seeing people guess about that online."

Will 'Alastor' find something greater with 'Charlie' or will he sacrifice her for his own ambitions? No matter what happens, one thing is for sure: the fans will have one 'Hell' of a ride in Hazbin Hotel Season 3.
