'Ustadji' Indresh Malik Recalls Filming Intimate Scene With Sonakshi Sinha During Her Mom's Presence

'Ustadji' Indresh Malik Recalls Filming Intimate Scene With Sonakshi Sinha During Her Mom's Presence

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been receiving much love from the audience. While people are in awe of SLB's craft and the stellar performance of the cast, a certain section of the cine lovers have been busy finding several goof-ups of the series. Amid the star-studded cast, the amazing acting skills of Indresh Malik and Sonakshi Sinha received a thumbs-up from the audience. And now, 'Ustadji', Indresh Malik shared some unheard anecdotes from the shooting diaries of the series. He also talked about shooting intimate scenes with Sonakshi Sinha and Jason Shah.

Indresh Malik recalls doing intimate scenes with Sonakshi Sinha in the presence of the latter's mom

In an interview with Bollywood Now, Indresh Malik shared an unheard anecdote about shooting an intimate sequence with Sonakshi Sinha. The actor shared that in one of the scenes, Sonakshi had to grab his head with her legs, and he was a bit self-conscious about the scene, as the actress' mom, Poonam Sinha was present there on the set. Talking more about the same, Indresh shared that Sonakshi reassured him. Indresh said that the actress asked him not to be conscious and to be more relaxed. Sharing that he has some lovely memories from the film's set, Indresh revealed:

"During one scene, Sonakshi ji had to grab my head with her legs. Her mother Poonam Sinha ji was also present, which made me a bit self-conscious. However, Sonakshi reassured me. She told me not to be conscious, asked me to relax, made me comfortable, and said she will do the necessary. I have such lovely memories from the show’s set.”

Indresh Malik recalls doing intimate scenes with his co-star, Jason Shah

In the same interview, Indresh Malik mentioned that when he got a call from the casting department, he said yes to the same, as the role of 'Utsadji' was made for him, which was full of challenges. The actor shared how he was a bit nervous about essaying a scene that showed the closeness of one man to another. Speaking along the same lines, Indresh stated that he and Jason talked for an hour before the shot, and then they just went with the flow. He added that the scenes wherein he had to be intimate with Jason didn't need much retakes, which was satisfying for them, as the director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, doesn't satisfy for less, as he is a perfectionist. Speaking along the same lines, Indresh shared:

"The scene didn’t need many retakes, which was satisfying because Sanjay sir doesn’t settle until he achieves what he wants. He’s such a perfectionist. Although I was nervous about the scene since it featured a man being close to another man, Jason and I discussed it beforehand for about an hour and then went with the flow."

When Indresh Malik shared that SLB consoled him when he couldn't stop crying after an emotional scene

Indresh Malik played a supporting role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi. However, his performance craved a special place in the hearts of the audience. In an interview with a YouTube channel, Indresh mentioned that during a scene in Heeramandi, Sonakshi had to give him a nosepin to wear.

Speaking along the same lines, Indresh revealed that he had to cry in that scene, and even after it was over, he couldn't hold back his tears. Talking about the same, Indresh revealed that it was after that when Sanjay came to him to hug him and gave him Rs. 500. Indresh revealed that it was a big thing for him as it felt like a guru gave his blessings to his disciple.
