Dharmendra who joined virtually, gave his good wishes to his wife, Hema Malini and Ramesh Sippy for their stint in the show as they took charge of the hot seat. They also shared some sweet memories and good times from their days on the shoot. From their fun moments to behind-the-shoot scenes, they shared some hilarious incidents and made the audience go ROFL!
Recollecting the good times while shooting the film, Amitabh Bachchan, shared some fond memories with his friend, Dharmendra. He reminisced, "Dharam Ji and I used to travel (back and forth to Ramanagar) in one vehicle. An exceptionally peculiar occurrence happened once, when Dharam Ji and I left, our car needed to go from one of the most jam-packed streets in Bangalore. The car stalled. What's more, there were around 3,000 to 4,000 individuals who came to see Dharam Ji and surrounded us. I asked him what do we do now? He said don’t worry and we left from there and there was an auto that was passing us. The two of us got inside and gone in an auto till Ramanagara. We enjoyed a ton!"
Hearing this, Hema Malini also remembered a comparative encounter, and added, “Something like this happened with me in Jaipur. There was a train crossing, a middle crossing. So despite waiting, there was a man who was going in a cycle. He took the cycle and asked me to come and sit.”
The director of the film, Ramesh Sippy also joined the bandwagon and shared a similar experience. He said, “One night, Dharam Ji left for Ramanagara walking. When he reached somewhere close by, he got tired and there was an auto going by, he sat in it and reached. Him and his boy. Everybody was looking for them because in the morning the cars had to be rented and he’s not there. He just went like, ‘I just felt like walking.”
Furthermore, the fun didn't end here. Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini also imitated some famous dialogues from their film, Sholay on the show. While Hema recreated Dharmendra‘s popular dialogue, “Basanti, in kutton ke samne mat nachna," Amitabh delivered the famous dialogue, "Angrezo ke zamaane ke jailer hai," originally said by Asrani in the movie. This was enough to set the vibe and rewind the tape back to the good old days!
We wish Hema Malini a very healthy and happy birthday!
