And Bollywood actress, Hema Malini feels that her children, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol are extremely protective towards her. Born to a Tamil-speaking Iyengar family, Hema Malini had become the Dream Girl of Bollywood in the 70s. From movies like Seeta Aur Geeta, Sanyasi, Dharmatma, Pratigya, Sholay, Trishul and many more, Hema ji’s contribution in Bollywood is remarkable. The South Indian beauty had tied the knot with the Punjab da gabru, Dharmendra in a nikaah ceremony in 1979. Considered as one of the most iconic on-screen couple of the 70s, Hema ji and Dharmendra have set major off-screen relationship goals too. Married for 40 years now, Hema ji and Dharmendra are blessed with two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
Esha Deol and Ahana Deol share a great bond with their mom, Hema Malini. In an interview with Bombay Times, Hema ji opened about how her daughters are very protective towards her and because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they don’t let her step out of her house. Elaborating on the same, Hema ji shared, “My daughters don’t allow me to get out of my house. The children are so worried about you and take care of you. So much that you have become a prisoner in the hands of your own children. Even my brothers (R.K. and R.J. Chakravarti)… they too are not allowed by their children to go anywhere. They just say nah-nah-nah aap nahi ja sakte buss. Not just that even my grandchildren stop me from venturing out.”
During a chat with RJ Anmol, Hema Malini had talked about how she is spending her lockdown, she had stated, “When I have to catch a flight, I don’t do yoga or mediation. Now I am getting full time. I do yoga and meditation in the morning. My trainer used to come for the workout, now I do without him. Now the helpers can’t come and go. The one who is there with me can’t go out. So, I don’t give him too much trouble. I washed my own clothes, did jhadu-pocha too. I also watered the plants in the balcony. You feel very independent and you feel very nice that you can do everything and don’t need a servant. I also water the plants on the terrace. On May 2, 2020, Hema Malini and Dharmendra had celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, their doting daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol had penned heartfelt notes for their parents. Both Esha and Ahana had posted some beautifully captured moments of their parents. While Esha had captioned her post as “Happy wedding anniversary my darling parents! My mamma & papa I love u both soooooooo much & pray to god to bless you both with infinite years of togetherness, love, happiness & the best of health @dreamgirlhemamalini @aapkadharam Love you Esha, Bharat, Radhya & Miu.” Ahana had written, “Happy 40th wedding Anniversary to my love Bugs. wish you many years of togetherness and many more adventures together.
