Hong Jin-Kyung Announces DIVORCE After 22 Years Of Marriage With Kim Jung Woo, Consulted Daughter

In a surprising turn of events, former model and TV personality, Hong Jin Kyung, has confirmed her separation from her husband, Kim Jung Woo. The pair was married for 22 years before they headed for a separation. According to varied media reports, Hong and Kim got married in 2003 and now have ended their long-standing relationship very silently. Both of them have a daughter named Rael a.k.a Kim Rachel, who was born in 2010 after undergoing seven years of fertility treatment.

According to varied entertainment sources, Hong and Kim want to focus on their lives individually and finalised their divorce via mutual consent. A source close to the former pair told Dispatch that there was no fault on either side. They lived well together for 22 years and simply agreed to part ways to live the rest of their lives separately, but peacefully. However, Hong did take permission from her daughter, who supported the decision of her parents. Rael was mature enough to accept and understand that her parents did not want to stay together. She supported their decision, but Kim reportedly does visit Hong's house as both of them continue to keep a strong relationship. It was in 1993 when she debuted as a supermodel and then had a career as an actress, comedian, YouTuber and also a kimchi entrepreneur.

Hong shared that she was thinking of the right time to share the private news. Their agencies reportedly were made aware of the divorce of Hong and Kim in July 2025. The announcement of the divorce was made through Jeong Sun Hee’s YouTube channel. She also confessed of not having deleted Kim's number and shared:

"I still keep in contact with him."

Well, when Hong was asked if she planned to reconcile with Kim, she shared that it was not how she saw relationships. Insiders did mention that they knew about Hong and Kim's separation way before. Korean reports mentioned that they were aware of the situation of separation between the two. An OSEN report stated that they did not want to discuss the matter further after having conversations with Hong's agency. When Hong made up her mind to speak with her fans, that was the time she addressed it once and for all.

For the unversed, Kim is the senior of Hong and has been a businessman. He is five years older than her. Reportedly, she fell in love with Kim when Hong's cousin, Choi Jin Sil, set her up with Kim for a blind date. According to a report by Aju, the relationship of the duo started off in an unconventional manner. She fell for him at one go and even kissed him at their first meeting. Hong started calling him daily, and Kim maintained distance as he did not expect to be kissed in the first meeting. One day, when she kept calling him relentlessly, he was at a barbecue restaurant, until Hong once met him at a school reunion in Seoul, and the rest became history.
