Salim Khan, the renowned screenwriter, is currently admitted to the Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai. Earlier, on February 17, 2026, the 90-year-old prolific screenwriter was hospitalised and admitted to the ICU. Speaking to the media, Dr. Jalil Parkar from the Lilavati hospital revealed that he had suffered a minor brain haemorrhage. However, Salman Khan and his family were reportedly upset about the following. According to the latest reports, Salim Khan will soon get discharged.

Salim Khan is likely to be discharged from Lilavati Hospital in the next three or four days

According to journalist, Vickey Lalwani, the veteran screenwriter was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after doctors detected a blood clot. He is reportedly feeling better, and if everything goes well, he will be discharged soon. Taking to his Instagram handle, Vickey shared the current health update of Salim Khan. In the note, Vickey mentioned that Salim will likely get discharged in the next three or four days. He added that the Khan family is very relieved and happy about the following. The note shared by Vickey Lalwani can be read as:

"Salim Khan is feeling relatively better, and if all goes well, the celebrated writer will be discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital (Bandra) where he was admitted two weeks ago. There was a brain clot which has been treated and Salman Khan’s father is going to go home in the next 3 to 4 days. It was not easy but the prayers have been heard. The team of doctors attending to him have done a very good job and the Khan family is very relieved and happy."

Earlier, in February 2026, reports surfaced claiming that Salman Khan and his family wanted to maintain privacy and avoid all speculations regarding Salim Khan. The Khan family was reportedly upset with doctors sharing the renowned screenwriter’s health update. A source close to the family told Variety that the Khan family had clearly conveyed to the hospital authorities that they don’t want any further details to come out in public regarding Salim Khan’s health. The insider was quoted as saying:

"Health is a private matter. Ideally, no updates should be shared with the media and any communication should be left entirely to the family, if and when they choose to address fans and well-wishers. Salman and his family were displeased with the doctor’s public statement and have clearly conveyed to the authorities that they do not want any further details disclosed."

Official statement of Lilavati Hospital after Salim Khan got admitted

Soon after, Salim was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, and the authorities issued an official statement. In the statement, they mentioned that the 90-year-old prolific screenwriter was admitted under Dr. Jalil Parkar. According to the official statement, Salim Khan was brought into the emergency by their family doctor, Dr. Sandeep Chopra. He was shifted to the intensive care, and a team of doctors, consisting of neurologist, Dr. Vinay Chavan, cardiologist, Dr Ajit Menon and neurosurgeon, Dr Nitin Dange and Dr. Bineet Ahluwalia attended him. An excerpt from the official statement can be read as:

"Yes, it’s true that Mr Salim Khan (father of famed Bollywood actor Salman Khan) & an icon in himself has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital under Dr Jalil Parkar in the ICU early morning at 8.30 am. He was brought into the emergency by their family doctor, Dr Sandeep Chopra. The emergency care was initiated in the emergency and Mr Salim Khan was shifted to the intensive care on the 1st floor. Kindly bear with us. He is stable but is under close observation in regards to his clinical status."
