How King Charles' Nephew, Peter Phillips' Second Royal Wedding To Harriet Sperling Might Look Like?

Peter Phillips, the eldest grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and the son of Princess Anne, has recently announced his engagement to Harriet Sperling. This announcement comes long after he finalised his divorce with his first wife, Autumn Kelly, in 2021. While good wishes are pouring in for the new couple, conversations have already started about the upcoming Royal wedding. However, fans are confused about how their nuptial ceremony might look, as it will be Peter's second wedding after previously being married for 12 years. Amid this confusion, here's what the norm and royal experts have to say.

Royal experts have contrasting views about Peter Phillips' wedding to Harriet Sperling

Queen Elizabeth II's eldest grandchild, Peter Phillips had tied the knot with Autumn Kelly in 2008 in a grand wedding ceremony at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. It was attended by Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and other senior royals. But despite being born into royalty, Peter's upcoming wedding to Harriet Sperling might be more low-key in comparison to his first wedding. These assumptions are made because even Peter's mother, Princess Anne, tied the knot for the second time after her divorce in a quiet ceremony.

Similarly, King Charles and Queen Camilla had a civil ceremony in 2005 to avoid royal fanfare. Based on these examples, Peter Phillips and Harriet might have an understated wedding. In contrast, former royal butler, Grant Harrold, opined that the time has changed now, and despite Peter being a divorcee, he might have a 'full-blown' white wedding. He believes that the couple are free to decide the scale and pomp of their upcoming wedding. On the other hand, Royal expert Phil Dampier told Femail:

"Peter Phillips is not a working royal, so he can pretty much do what he wants. He has already presumably sold the fact he is engaged to HELLO! magazine, and I wouldn't be surprised if he does the same with the wedding. I'm sure senior royals will be invited and will attend, but we probably won't see any big parade or carriage procession."
