Before his debut film, Hrithik had made brief appearances in many Hindi films and always wished to be an actor.

The actor then went on to prove his versatility with films like Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish 3, Lakshya, Dhoom 2, Jodha Akbar, Guzaarish, Agneepath and many other films. Hrithik Roshan revealed why Kader Khan made his life hell

Yes, since Rakesh Roshan had to face a lot of struggles while he was an actor, he didn’t want Hrithik to undergo the same. Giving his own example, Rajesh warned Hrithik and told him to look for an alternate career if acting doesn’t work for him. Speaking to film critic, Anupama Chopra in a throwback interview for her show, Masterclass, Hrithik revealed how he considered studying special effects.

During the course of the interview, when Anupama asked Hrithik about his plans to have an alternate career, the handsome star opened up about the same and stated that it was veteran actor, Kader Khan who made his life a hell. Speaking about the same, Hrithik said:

“Yes. Scary time of my life. Okay, I ­wanted to be an actor. My father, thinking about all the ­struggle that he had been through, warned me against it. He said, "You must have something to fall back upon". And then came into my life, Mr Kader Khan. Lovely man. Made my life hell. Hell. He told my father, ‘If your son wants to go and do special effects, he must go to a Polytechnic college. One ­college, Bhagubhai Polytechnic is close by, your son must go there.’”

In the same interaction, Hrithik revealed that his father, Rakesh Roshan asked him to join Bhagubhai Polytechnic as suggested by Kader Khan. Recalling the funny conversation he had with his father about the alternate career, Hrithik revealed:

“My dad came home and said, "You have to do this. Bhagubhai." I went, "Bhagubhai? What is Bhagubhai?" He said, ‘It’s a Polytechnic College. You go to this college and when you come out, you will be able to fix an AC. You will be able to fix the fridge.’”

When Hrithik Roshan was disturbed by his flop films after 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai'

Though Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai made Hrithik an overnight star, the actor had to face the other side of stardom by facing a few flops. After his debut film, the next few films Hrithik worked on failed miserably, and he was quite disturbed. During an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube show, Ameesha Patel shared how Hrithik used to stay disturbed.

The actress recalled a time when she talked to Hrithik, and he said to her that he had been giving flop movies back-to-back while she had given another massive hit, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Sharing more details about the same, Ameesha mentioned:

"He used to be very disturbed, of course. Our first film was such a massive hit, of course the downfall is going to hit you harder. And he’s telling me, ‘But Ameesha, aapne toh dusri film Gadar de di, main flop de raha hoon aap Gadar de rahe ho (But you did Gadar and I gave flops)’. I told him not to worry, because the tables will inevitably turn.”

Rakesh Roshan mortgaged his house for Hrithik Roshan’s debut film

In an interview with BBC, Hrithik Roshan revealed that his father, Rakesh Roshan, took a huge financial risk to launch him. He said that the budget of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was almost Rs. 3 crore, and for the same, their house and car were mortgaged. The actor stated that the first time his dad did a similar kind of thing was when he made his first film, Khudgarz, his in-house production, and the same risk he had taken to launch his son and both times, it worked out.
