One of the most anticipated films of the year, War 2 has hit the floors on August 14, 2025, and initially evoked a frenzy among the fans. However, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the box office collection of the film has dipped below Rs. 10 crores on Day 5 after it's release. Amid a consistently dipping earnings rate, controversial Bollywood critic, Kamaal R Khan (KRK) has alleged that Hrithik unfollowed co-star, Jr NTR. Here's a fact check on these claims. 

KRK claims Hrithik Roshan unfollowed Jr NTR after War 2 'disaster'

KRK, who doesn't shy away from making bold claims on films and stars, has made another tweet which has gone viral in the gossip mills. The controversial critic claimed that in Bollywood, people are not each other's friend or foe permanently. Hence, since Ayan Mukerji's directorial, War 2, is a 'disaster', Hrithik Roshan unfollowed his co-star and Telugu superstar, Jr NTR on Instagram. Taking to his X handle, KRK tweeted:

"In the Bollywood, nobody is permanent friend and enemy. Everything depends on the success and failure. Since film #War2 is a disaster, So Hrithik Roshan doesn’t want to be friend of Telugu actor, Jr NTR! Therefore, Hrithik Roshan unfollowed Junior NTR on Instagram. Fair enough!"

Fact check on whether Hrithik Roshan unfollowed Jr NTR on Instagram or not 

As KRK's tweet went viral with many speculating a rift, Hrithik's fandom came forward to set the record straight. As per his fans, Hrithik had never followed the RRR actor in the first place. Hence, the claims were rendered baseless. Meanwhile, a Filmibeat fact-check report also claimed that Hrithik Roshan, who plays 'Major Kabir' in the film, had never started following Jr NTR, who plays 'Vikram' in the sequel. However, it is interesting to note that the Krrish actor follows War 2 co-star, Kiara Advani and director, Ayan Mukerji. One X user tweeted:

"Hrithik & Jr. NTR never followed each other on instagram. You are looking for drama where there is none."

Hrithik Roshan is back as 'Major Kabir' for the sequel of War. However, once a decorated officer, he has turned into a villain in the story. 'Kabir' is chased by Special Units Officer, 'Vikram', played by Jr NTR. Kiara Advani plays the role of 'Kavya Luthra', a mysterious character whose intentions are hard to decipher. 'Kavya' and 'Kabir' are also entangled in a romance, which adds more thrill to the story. Apart from these three stars, War 2 also stars Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana in significant roles. 

Talking about the box office earnings of War 2, the film showed a promising first day with over Rs. 50 crores collected on its release on August 14, 2025 (Thursday). The earnings increased slightly the next day, however, the collection has since been in a steady decline, as the film is receiving mixed reviews from viewers. On the weekend, War 2 amassed a little over Rs. 30 crores. However, the film has failed the first Monday test, which is quite crucial for theatrical releases, and only gained Rs. 8 crore on Day 5. With the dip not expected to make up soon, War 2 might either become a commercial dud at the theatres or barely manage to cover its budget of reportedly Rs. 325 crores.
