In the year 2014, popular filmmaker, Shashank Khaitan assembled an exciting cast of actors like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, late Sidharth Shukla, Ashutosh Rana, and Sahil Vaid for his film, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. As a result, the romantic comedy turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2014. The film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 33 crores and had collected almost 120 crores. Although Alia and Varun's chemistry was the highlight of the entire film, it was Sidharth's performance in the film that was the movie's much-needed X-factor.
Also, even after Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania's success, Sidharth Shukla started getting the recognition and kudos he deserves for his acting chops. Well, the film completed 8 years on July 11, 2022, and the cast and film's director, Shashank remembered Sidharth with their respective heartfelt gestures on social media.

On July 12, 2022, Varun Dhawan took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture from one of the promotional events of his film, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. In the picture, he can be spotted alongside his co-stars, Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Shukla and Sahil Vaid. Atop the picture, Varun wrote, "8 years of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Some great memories with amazing people." After a few seconds, Varun shared the same picture on his Twitter handle, along with a heart-melting post in which he addressed the time he had spent with Sidharth Shukla on the sets of the film. Also, he posted a picture with Sidharth from one of their press conferences. Along with these two pictures, Varun penned in his tweet:
"8 years of #humptysharmakidhulania a very special film but today I remember it for the time I got to spend with sid on the film. He was kind-hearted, protective and always passionate about work and friends."
As soon as Varun Dhawan's Instagram story went live, the film's lead actress, Alia Bhatt also shared the same memorable picture on her IG story. In the picture, Alia can be spotted taking a selfie while standing with Sidharth, and the two look cute together. Even their chemistry in the film, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was spot on and was one of the major reasons behind the film's success. The actress put a series of red-heart emoticons atop the picture. A few moments ago, Shashank Khaitan took to his Instagram handle and shared the film's poster and recalled all the wonderful memories of the time that he had spent with the entire cast. In his lengthy note, Shashank shared how things have changed completely in these last eight years. Reflecting on the respective lives of his film's cast, Shashank penned how Varun got married to Natasha Dalal, Alia is expecting a baby with her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, and how Sidharth Shukla had left this world. His emotional caption can be read as:
"8 years of #hskd … At times it feels like yesterday and at times another lifetime… So much has happened in just 8 years … Varun got Married. Karan had babies. I had a baby. Alia got married and is about to have a baby. Many of my HOD's who were kids then, now have babies … Okay enough of baby talk. Raj and Bhanu went on to become film Directors. We battled through Covid. Siddharth Shukla left us for a better place. My unbelievable cast and crew… thanking you for believing in me then and now… Loads and loads of love."
No matter what, Sidharth Shukla will always be in our memories!
