Twenty-four years before 'Katniss Everdeen' brought havoc on 'The Capitol' in The Hunger Games trilogy, the story of Sunrise On The Reaping gives a closer look into the life of the people of 'District 12'. This prequel book to The Hunger Games, written by Suzanne Collins, is all set to hit your screens as a film. The trailer for Sunrise On The Reaping has also been released recently. Amid this, here's a look at which actors will be playing your favourite characters from the book.
The alcoholic, wasted, and contemptuous mentor of 'Katniss' and 'Peeta' from the Hunger Games trilogy is the protagonist of Sunrise On The Reaping. The upcoming prequel will give fans an insight into why he turned out this way and the losses he faced 24 years ago. 'Haymitch' is one of the most important characters of the storyline since he was used as an example to show the 'tributes' what happens to people if they defy 'The Capitol'. As seen in the trailer for Sunrise On The Reaping, Joseph Zada will portray the younger version of 'Haymitch'. Meanwhile, in the previous trilogy, Woody Harrelson essayed the older version of the same role.

'Corolianus Snow', the President of 'Panem', is one of the most sadistic antagonists ever, with complete psychopathic tendencies. With his chilling smile and cool demeanour, he has set homes on fire, charring innocent family members of those who dared to defy him. While Donald Sutherland played the role of a much older 'President Snow', Ralph Fiennes will be seen as a middle-aged version of him in Sunrise On The Reaping.

The Hunger Games shows 'Plutarch' as the head of the rebel movement, hell-bent on bringing 'The Capitol' down. Sunrise On The Reaping will depict him as a young cameraman assigned to cover the 'District 12'. The prequel will also shed light on how 'Plutarch' developed a rebellious streak after witnessing the plight of the people. However, his motivations are frequently questioned. This complex character's younger version will be portrayed by Jesse Plemons. Philip Seymour Hoffman had played the older version of the same character in the original Hunger Games.

'Effie Trinket', the Emergency escort and the designer/stylist of 'The Capitol', is a character of many shades, both literal and metaphorical. Behind her colourful clothes, huge wigs, and seemingly clueless personality, she hides a keen instinct. Among all the residents of 'The Capitol', 'Effie' is also one of the few people to show an ounce of sympathy to the tributes. After the amazing portrayal of Elizabeth Banks as 'Effie', Elle Fanning will take on this role in Sunrise On The Reaping to show the younger version of the stylist.
Apart from these core cast members, many other highly acclaimed actors and actresses will be portraying significant roles. Kieran Culkin will be seen as 'Caesar Flickerman'. Maya Hawke will portray 'Wiress', and Glenn Close will portray 'Drusilla Sickle'. Mckenna Grace will essay the character of 'Maysilee Donner'. Since 'Katniss' wasn't born during this timeline, fans won't be seeing Jennifer Lawrence on screen for this prequel.
What are your thoughts on these actors playing the well-known Hunger Games characters?
