On January 16, 2025, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan faced a horrific incident at home. An intruder attempted robbery in their Satguru Sharan apartment in Bandra and stabbed the actor six times which resulted in Saif profusely bleeding coupled with multiple wounds. Reports earlier claimed Ibrahim took the actor to the hospital. The 23-year-old has stopped his work commitments to be next to his dad. However, now it seems Ibrahim is all set to resume his debut film, Diler shooting, as his father is stable.
Saif's son, Ibrahim, from his first marriage to Amrita Singh, is set to make his acting debut opposite south actress Sreeleela in Dinesh Vijan's Diler. The young star halted his work commitments to be with his family at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital, where Saif is admitted. A source close to the development told Pinkvilla that the actor would return to work on January 18, 2025.
Another report by India Today claimed that Ibrahim had decided to postpone the shooting of his highly anticipated sports drama, Diler. It is expected that he will resume the sets of the film once his dad is back home. The source close to the publication said:
"Shooting of Maddock’s Diler was on. It has been put on hold after the attack on Saif. Sreelala is also in the film. It is being directed by Kunal Deshmukh. Ibrahim wants to be at his dad’s side till he comes home and until he fully recovers.”
There hasn't been much information released on Ibrahim's debut film. However, recent reports claim the movie will be related to the life of a marathoner. The entire cast of the movie has not yet been announced. However, Ibrahim may try to balance his personal and professional commitments.
As of now, the actor is out of danger and stable. Many of Saif's close friends and family members have been visiting the hospital to visit the actor. Saif's wife, Kareena, mother, Sharmila Tagore, sister, Soha, and daughter, Sara, are all together during this traumatic phase. Many stars across Bollywood condemned the attack on Saif, and the question of the safety of public figures has been raised. Stricter security measures are being demanded in the residential areas of stars. Kareena also publicly addressed the shocking incident. She expressed gratitude to her fans for their concern but also demanded privacy as they sailed through this tough time. Kareena in her statement shared:
