Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan and Bollywood actress, Amrita Singh, made his acting debut with the film, Nadaaniyan. Directed by Shauna Gautam, the film also featured star kid, Khushi Kapoor. Despite the hype created around the film, Nadaaniyan failed to make its place in the hearts of the audience. In a recent interview, debutant, Ibrahim himself described the project as a really bad film. He also reacted to the harsh trolling that he faced after the release of his Bollywood debut.
In a candid conversation with Esquire India, Ibrahim Ali Khan opened up about his debut film, Nadaaniyan, and how it didn’t do well at the box office. The star kid admitted that the audience had high expectations before his Bollywood debut, but after the movie’s release, the entire excitement went downhill. Ibrahim shared that he’s been trolled harshly online, and it’s been quite tough for him to deal with the heavy criticism. Reflecting on it, he openly admitted that his debut film, Nadaaniyan, was not good. He was quoted as saying:
"Not too long ago, they were all waiting for my launch, and after Nadaaniyan, the hype has dropped really badly. They’ve trolled me nonstop. ‘He won’t be able to do it only.’ It’s a massive low… and I constantly feel bad about it. I’m just gonna go on record and say that it was a really bad film."
In the same interview, Ibrahim opened up about getting trolled non-stop for the failure of his Bollywood debut, Nadaaniyan. He mentioned that it has now become a culture to troll the film and highlighted how few people trolled because the others did. Ibrahim later expressed that he wants the same kind of madness for the next film when he gives a blockbuster. In his words:
"It was really bad. It became a sort of culture to, ‘Oh, let’s troll that film’. There were people who were trolling it just because they heard that some other person was trolling it. That’s uncalled for, but if I now give a blockbuster in the future, I want the same kind of response. They should go mad after me."
Further in the interview, Ibrahim shared that although he didn’t take his chance in Bollywood lightly, he admitted to stepping into the industry with a casual 'Ho jaayega' approach. The starkid mentioned that he is still working hard on his speech issue. Ibrahim later talked about entering the industry too early at the age of 21. Citing others' examples who had entered the entertainment world after the age of 25, Ibrahim expressed that he would have been a bit more careful about the following matter. He was quoted as saying:
"Of course, I was working very hard—like I’m still working hard on my speech issue. But in a way, I feel I must have rushed into that movie. I was 21 when I began shooting for it—others around me are doing it at 26, 27, 28—and I now think I could have been more mindful of the scale of what was going to happen."
