Imran Khan Opens Up About His Struggle With Mental Health, Says, 'I Felt Damaged On The Inside'

Imran Khan is one of the most popular Bollywood actors. He is the nephew of Aamir Khan and has worked in several movies, such as Delhi Belly and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. He has been away from the limelight for quite some time now, but his fans' eternal love for him has not decreased. The actor was last seen in the movie, Katti Batti

Imran Khan recently opened up about his mental health struggles and revealed the reason for his absence from the glamour world. The talented actor emphasized on mental well-being and shared his commitment to therapy. Imran talked about leaving B-town after his last movie, Katti Batti, which was released in 2015.

Imran Khan on leaving the industry while being mentally unwell

In a recent interview with Vogue India, Imran Khan revealed the reason behind leaving Bollywood after the release of his last film. Many people thought that Imran left the industry due to the continuous failure of his films at the box office. But the actor revealed that he was going through a difficult phase at an emotional level at that time, which pushed him to leave the spotlight behind. Talking about the same, he said:

"I simply couldn't be bothered to invest the time, energy and effort required to stay in this profession."

In the same interview, Imran revealed that he could not socialize with people and wanted to stay alone. He also mentioned the importance to seek therapy whenever feeling low. He further continued:

"I felt damaged on the inside, and I wanted to fix that. If you pull a hamstring, you go to the physiotherapist. You don't feel good mentally? Seek therapy."

During the interview, he also revealed that he had to take four sessions a week with his therapist to improve his mental health. Sharing his thoughts on the same, Imran said:

"If you speak to someone who has given up an addiction or gone off alcohol, they could tell you the exact number of days they've been sober. It's the same for me with my mental health. It's been 2,500 days since I started my analysis on March 13, 2017."

Imran Khan on making a comeback in Bollywood

The Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na actor, Imran Khan has been away from the limelight since 2015. He was last seen in Nikkhil Advani's movie, Katti Batti. Fans are eagerly waiting for his comeback, while Imran Khan has no intention of fitting into the stereotype. He has been reading scripts for various upcoming movies.

Regarding his comeback, Imran said that in early times, he had portrayed the character of young men several times. But now he wants to play truthful characters. Imran Khan no longer wants to portray the stereotypical male characters in movies; instead, he wants to fit into a role that is different. He is all set to make a comeback in B-town as soon as he finds a proper script. 

We are eagerly waiting to see Imran back on the silver screen.
