India's First VJ, Ruby Bhatia Reveals She Hates Motherhood, Says She Doesn't Send Them To School

India's first VJ, Ruby Bhatia is back at making headlines for her personal life. It all started after fans started speculating about her financial condition. It is worth mentioning that Ruby was at the top of her career when she walked away from the limelight. She talked for the first time about her broken marriage, remarrying and hating motherhood.

Ruby Bhatia on her first marriage 

In an interview with Bollywood Thikana, Ruby talked about her first marriage. She shared that she was 22 when she got married, and he was 24. However, with time as they grew up, they realised that they wanted different things from each other. So, they parted ways, and it was a painful divorce. Ruby revealed that by 25, her first marriage had ended, and she joined ISCON, which was like a dream come true, as she decided to dedicate her life to God. She took up acting projects, and her life was a balance between shoot and temple.

Ruby Bhatia talked about getting married again

After almost a decade, Ruby found love again, and they were both 35 when they found a soulmate connection with each other. Ruby met her second husband, Ajeet Dutta, at her Guruji's ashram in Ranchi, and eventually they got married. However, marriage came as a shock to her. However, it is motherhood that she hated. 

Ruby stated that she is blessed with two boys and they keep crying, and it was crazy to nurture them and on top of the weight gain and starving to lose weight again. She shared:

"Marriage was fine, but after we had children, it was madness. I went from complete silence to complete chaos. I have two boys—crying round the clock, changing diapers, gaining weight, starving to lose weight. Then I had my second child and went through it all over again. I wanted to do everything properly, but I wasn’t used to this life. I battled that phase, and now that they’re a little older, I can finally breathe."

Ruby further revealed that she doesn't send her children to school. She is homeschooling both her boys as she believes that her lifestyle and philosophy don't align with India's conventional education system. She shared that her life isn't just about growing up, getting married and having kids. She doesn't want her children to run the rat race. She wants them to stay connected with God and realise that he is the director of this production. Ruby added that for her, she can't keep running, and it is quality of life that matters the most. She was quoted as saying:

“I am a thinker. I constantly question the purpose of life. Life isn’t just about growing up, getting married, having kids and entering the rat race. The highest purpose of human life is attunement with God. He is the director of this production. Once you understand that, you want to truly enjoy life—and for that, you need time. I can’t keep running. Quality of life matters to me."
