Parents Refuse To Bring New Born Baby Home As It's A Girl, Doctor Says, '21st Century Mei Hai..'

In India being born as a girl child has its own sets of trials. A girl is regarded as the incarnation of Shakti, Devi Durga, Ardhangini (better half, consort) and is denoted as Goddess Lakshmi. However, even in the 21st century, some families curse their fate when a girl is born. A video has now gone viral on social media where a doctor revealed how the parents of a newborn abandoned the infant because it was a girl child.

Doctor raises voice against newborn girl child being abandoned by the family

A heartbreaking video has gone viral where a doctor, supposedly a gynaecologist, held a day-old newborn girl in her arms and spoke about how her family did not accept her as she was a girl. The doctor in the video talked about how the baby was delivered a day before, and the infant was the second daughter of her parents. The couple had another girl child, whom they lost. The doctor shared that the parents of the infant were cold as they were unhappy with the birth of a daughter. The doctor shared:

"Milake ghar mei 3 betiyan aagayi hai. Toh esliye gharwale bade naraz hai aur eske papa ne esko phone bhi nai kia abhi tak. Bahar rehte hai woh. Gharwale keh rahe hai ki unko wahi hospital mei hi chodh ke aajao. As a doctor, mother, female, daughter I feel really very bad ki jab hamare desh ki President female hai, Sunitia Williams jaise hamare yaha pe log hai, joh 9 mahine antariksh mei rehkar aaye hai. Ess bachei ne bhi 9 mahine apne maa ke pet mei safar tai kia hai aur shayad yeh bhi asim sambhavnaye leke paida hui hai."

The lady doctor shared that even in the 21st-century era, families are abandoning girl children in the hospital. Female infanticide has not yet ended, and cases related to dowries and abandoning infant girls have not yet ceased. According to the clip, the incident went viral when the lady gave birth to her third daughter at a private hospital in India. The family decided to leave the child at the hospital, and the emotionless father did not even call to check on his wife after the delivery.

Doctor shares how new the baby girl's family realised their mistake

As soon as the video of the doctor went viral on social media and she made an emotional appeal to not abandon girl kids, netizens' hearts pained. They wanted to adopt the infant and look after it as a mom. A few said that the child would not be safe with the parents, and India needed to have those legal foster homes, as daughters deserve better. The doctor, in the next clip, thanked the followers for sending love and blessings to the infant. Her video was watched by 35 lakh people on social media, with thousands of likes and more than 7,000 messages to the doctor about adopting the child. The kind doctor shared a clip where she was seen talking to the parents of the baby, who realised their mistake, and she said:

"Aapne laga tar phone calls aare hai toh yakeen nai hua enn sab baato ka. Logg bahut pareshan hai jinn logo ko bachei nai hore hai. Tab unko apni galti ka ehsaas hua aur unki aakhein aasuo se bhar gayi. Upar wale ne joh Lakshmi unko di hai ab woh esko pyar se respect se ghar le jane ke liye taiyar hai."
