Netizens Want To Know The Real Reason Behind Deepika Padukone's Exit From 'Kalki 2898 AD' Sequel

Since, the past few weeks, Deepika Padukone has been making a lot of headlines for both good and bad reasons. In September 2025, the actress grabbed attention when she celebrated the first birthday of her daughter, Dua. Recently, she has made headlines after the makers of Kalki 2898 AD dropped her from its sequel. Amid that, social media users have expressed their thoughts and disappointment on Deepika's choices.

On September 18, 2025, after Vvjayanthi Movies shared the news about Deepika’s exit on their X (formerly Twitter), a lot of users shared their thoughts on the same. Some users wanted to know the real reason for her exit, while others questioned Deepika’s unreasonable demands. Some users also trolled her acting skills. 

One user commented, "I'm unable to understand what is going so drastically wrong with #DeepikaPadukone? Is she making unreasonable demands or not offering enough days?" Another user wrote, "Glad she isn't part of this franchise. Literally there was no emotion in all the scenes she acted in." A third user shared, "Why give the proper reasons she playing important role in Kalki."

In Kalki 2898 AD, Deepika Padukone played the role of 'Sumathi'. She is a pregnant lab subject in a government program called Project K and her unborn child is considered to be the future saviour. Because of the pregnancy, 'Sumathi' is hunted by powerful forces, who want her unborn child, but a group keeps her safe. 

On September 18, 2025, the makers of the film shared a note on X, in which they announced Deepika's exit from the film. They shared that a film like Kalki deserves a lot of commitment, which is why they will be ending the partnership with Deepika. 

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s daughter, Dua

Deepika and Ranveer welcomed their daughter on September 8, 2024. They announced her birth on their Instagram handle and even revealed the name, Dua. Since the beginning, Deepika wanted to maintain the privacy of their daughter and avoided pictures of her. But in August 2025, a few videos of her daughter went viral and the Tamasha actress criticised the same. Later in September 2025, Deepika baked a cake for her daughter and called it 'love language'.

In early 2025, Deepika left Sandeep Vanga's film, Spirit. Reports suggest that she wanted only 8 hours of workday and demanded a high fee, which the filmmakers didn't agree of. While a lot of actors came in support of Deepika, the comment did affect her public image.
