Aamir Khan and his ex-wife, Reena Datta were neighbours, when they had fallen in love. After a lot of effort, Aamir had managed to woo Reena, and they got married on April 18, 1986. Together, they have two kids, Ira Khan and Junaid Khan. However, their marriage could not stand the test of time and the two got divorced in 2002. While star kids are a rage in today’s time, it is Ira Khan, who is using her social media handle for the best.
Ira Khan has been openly talking about her mental ordeals, trying to create an environment, where mental health is given equal importance. On Mental Health Day 2020, which is observed on October 10 every year, Ira had opened up about her journey with depression and how she has been dealing with it for the past five years.

This time, the young lady crossed another milestone in her life as she mustered the courage to talk to her mother, Reena Datta about the things that bother her and make her cry. A few hours back, Ira Khan took to her IG stories and informed her fans about sharing her feelings with her mother as a ‘Pinky Promise to Me’. Sharing a travelling picture with mommy, Reena, Ira wrote, "I also talked to my mom about how I felt. And things that I usually have to type out because I cry too much to have these conversations in person. @agastufoundation #pinkypromisetome."
In another IG story, Ira Khan talked about stepping out of the comfort zone and how it feels. Sharing a selfie, Ira wrote, “Stepping out of your comfort zone doesn't always feel great, and sometimes it doesn't feel like anything at all. You feel like it was anticlimactic. But it's not supposed to be life changing. Most of the time...it's a little step. And at the end of the day... it's the little things. Right?"

Talking about her battle with clinical depression from the past four years, Ira Khan had earlier said, "Hi, I'm depressed. I have been for more than four years now. I've been to a doctor and I'm clinically depressed. I'm doing much better now. For over a year now, I wanted to do something for mental health, but I wasn't sure what to do.”

Ira had further shared, “I have decided to take you on a journey - my journey - and see what happens. Hopefully, we'll get to know ourselves and understand mental illness slightly better. I've thought of so many things to say. What should I say? Why am I doing this?" Ira had concluded with "Let's start from where I started. What do I have to be depressed about? Who am I to be depressed? I have everything, right?"
For the unversed, Ira Khan’s foundation, Agatsu Foundation has started a series of activities to celebrate Self Care Day and it is called ‘Pinky Promise to Me’.
