Aamir Khan and his ex-wife, Reena Dutta's beloved daughter, Ira Khan, is all set to tie the knot with her fiance, Nupur Shikhare. The couple is getting married on January 3, 2024, amidst the presence of their respective families and close friends. As they are counting the days before their big day, a cutesy glimpse of the soon to be married couple stole our hearts.
Ira Khan took to her official Instagram account and dropped a picture of herself and her groom, Nupur Shikhare. The photo uploaded on her IG story featured the duo snuggling with each other. Both Ira and Nupur were dressed casually in warm winter wear and were seen spending some quality time outdoors. While the to-be bride donned an oversized jacket with brownish sleeves and a black bodice, Nupur wore a black leather jacket. The duo’s bright smiles were enough to brighten the mood of the picture.

Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare met during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 when Ira moved into her father's house. Nupur, a professional fitness trainer, initially helped Ira with her fitness regimen. As they got to know each other better through deep conversations, the two eventually fell in love. Ira fondly calls her beau, ‘Popeye’.
Ira and Nupur got engaged in November 2022 in the presence of their family and close friends. Recently, the pre-wedding festivities of the couple got started, and according to a report by News18 Showsha, the two will be tying the knot at the Taj Lands End Hotel in Bandra. Later, they will be hosting two receptions to celebrate their union. A source has revealed:
“The Khan family is elated as they’re going to start the new year with a bang. Ira and Nupur will get married on January 3 at Bandra’s plush Taj Lands End hotel. Following that, there will be two reception parties that will take place – one in Delhi and the other in Jaipur – between January 6 and 10.”

The same report also stated that Ira and Nupur will have a Maharashtrian wedding to pay tribute to the latter's heritage. It was also disclosed that they purchased most of their jewellery from a well-known store in Matunga, which is famous for its traditional designs. As for the food menu, it will feature a diverse range of dishes for the couple's grand wedding celebration.
On December 26, 2023, the to-be bride, Ira Khan posted a video on her Instagram stories. The video showed several guests seated around a large dining table, enjoying delicious Maharashtrian cuisine. Among the guests were Aamir Khan's ex-wife, Kiran Rao, and their son, Azad Rao Khan. Kiran looked stunning in her off-white outfit and sat next to her son, Azad. In the background, Ira's voice could be heard as she captured the moment. She said:
“My God guys, get married to a Maharashtrian and get a Kelvan. How fun is this?”
