K-pop sensation, IU and BTS’ V’s first collaboration in the music video, Love Wins All, was widely praised. Their on-screen chemistry as ‘Taejoon’ and ‘Jihye’ left fans emotionally wrecked. Since then, the duo has sparked dating buzz all around. The rumoured couple has now made the headlines, after they were spotted at a Seoul Restaurant by their fans.

Fans spot BTS’ V and IU on the latter’s birthday

On May 15, KST, pictures of BTS’ V and Korean drama actress IU went viral after the duo was spotted by their fans at a Seoul Restaurant. Since the photos came out in public, they yet again sparked the dating buzz. A blurry image featured V sitting across from a woman in a bucket hat and a checkered shirt. Fans soon identified the mystery woman as IU because the actress wore the same outfit during a live session on May 14, 2025.

According to News 18 report, the actress turned 32 this year. It seems like V has taken a break from his military service and came down to celebrate the special day with IU. But, there is a plot twist. The duo was not alone at the luxury restaurant in Seoul. They were accompanied by 2AM’s Lim Seulong and another female acquaintance.

Fans reveal the truth behind V and IU’s dinner date buzz

After BTS member Kim Taehyung a.k.a V, was reportedly spotted with IU at a lavish restaurant in Seoul, fans kind of cleared the air about their dating buzz. One fan wrote on X handle (formerly Twitter), “Seulong is IU’s longtime friend and traditionally has birthday dinners that include the 2AM singer. Think it was just a fun celebration amongst four buds. :)”. Another X user tweeted, "Taehyung and IU were having dinner with Seulong, one of IU’s best friends and another woman. She really introduced him to her close circle of friends. So happy that he’s surrounded by people who really love him.”

There were rumours swirling around the meetup was due to the planning that is going around an upcoming K-drama project. Addressing the rumours, a user tweeted that it is not always about a project in the pipeline; the celebs only had a fun-filled meetup. The user’s tweet can be read as:

“They can just hang out and have fun time as friends not solely for project as much as I want actor Tae to make cb but let’s not spread misinfo about K-drama script.”

V and IU’s dating buzz

The friendship between V and IU started in January 2024, when the duo collaborated as a couple in the latter's music video, Love Wins All. Fans loved their on-screen presence and assumed that the duo was dating due to their close bond of friendship. Next, V attended IU’s encore concert in September 2024, which further reignited the dating buzz between IU and V. Coming to the professional front, IU is all set for the release of her next album, Flower Bookmark while V is engaged in a mandatory military service and set to return back to civilian life on June 10, 2025.
