Ishaan Khatter, son of Rajesh Khatter and Neelima Azeem, is in the headlines for his recently released international drama series, The Perfect Couple, featuring Nicole Kidman in the lead role. The actor has come a long way since his debut film, Dhadak in 2018, and has had his share of struggles. Reflecting on the same, Ishaan opened up about how his brother, Shahid Kapoor, helped him by buying a house where he and his mother, Neelima Azeem, lived for many years.
During an interview with The Dirty Magazine regarding his recently released series, Ishaan Khatter gave shocking revelations about his life before achieving success. The actor, who also confirmed his dating rumours in the same interview, said that he had seen his share of struggles. He explained how he lived in a typical small Bombay apartment for 10 years with his mother, Neelima Azeem, which was bought by his brother, Shahid Kapoor.

When he was asked how long he has been living in his new villa in Mumbai, Ishaan replied that he completed two years in it. Expressing further, he said that his old apartment felt like a cage to him, which is why, when he bought the new three-bedroom apartment by the sea, it felt right. He said:
“This is the 18th house I’ve lived in. But it’s my first time alone. When I was 16, we moved to Cozy Apartments in Yari Road, which my brother was able to buy for us, so my mom and I lived there for 10 years. The lockdowns happened in that house and it was a small place, like apartments in Bombay are. It was my mom, me, two other senior people and two cats in there. It had started feeling like a cage to me. Maybe that's why when I came here and saw the sea, I was like, this is all I need.”
This is the first time the actor has lived alone. When asked about the same, he said that although he likes being alone at home, there are times when he misses having company. Reflecting a little bit on his struggles, Ishaan said that he would not call himself ‘miserable’, but he has seen his share. However, the Khaali Peeli actor didn’t like discussing his struggles further. He just said:
“Abundance was not a thing I saw until very recently, contrary to what people might imagine. And there's a lot of imagination out there.”
Ishaan Khatter is gearing up for his next show, The Royals. Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, the show is said to have a spectacular setting of a modern-day regal romance. Although the release date is yet to be announced, the show has already gathered popularity with the dazzling cast that also includes Bhumi Pednekar, Zeenat Aman, Chunky Panday, Dino Morea, Nora Fatehi, Sakshi Tanwar, and more.
