While the two have denied the reports just like any other rumoured couple, it seems like their relationship is not-so-rumoured anymore. Because Zaid's father and music composer, Ismail Darbar has come forward to reveal whether the two are in a relationship or not. Scroll down to take a look!
In an interview with The Times of India, popular music composer, Ismail Darbar talked about his son, Zaid Darbar's relationship with actress, Gauahar Khan. While the couple were tight-lipped about their relationship on social media, it seems like the straight-forward veteran has let the cat out of the bag. When asked about his son's relationship rumours, Ismail Darbar said, "Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna. Sometime back, Zaid was dancing at a family wedding. Lekin haan, mera rishta mere bachchon ke saath ek baap aur bachche ka rishta jaisa hona chahiye, bilkul waisa hi hai. Badtameezi wala rishta nahi hai that Zaid will tell me that he's dating Gauahar." Going further in his interview, when Ismail Darbar was asked about his take on their possible marriage and will he support his son's decision, to which, the daddy cool clearly stated that if his son is happy, then everyone is happy. He retorted, "If Zaid and Gauahar get married, why won't I give aashirwad to Gauahar? If Zaid wants to marry her, why would I object? Zaid is nearly 29, and he knows what he's doing. In fact, that's exactly what Ayesha told him. She told him that if he's happy, we're happy too, and he is old enough to decide what's good for him."
In the end, Ismail Darbar revealed the kind of bond he shares with his five children, as he revealed that his kids never intervene in his personal space and he wants to do exactly the same. He stated, "I hate to be a fake. In fact, I don't even know how to fake it. Let me tell you straight up. I married for the second time, and I am not on great terms with my first wife (Farzana, Zaid's mother). If we were great with each other, why would we have separated and I gone on to marry someone else? The kids didn't intervene in my personal life even then, nor do they do so now. I have 4 kids from my first wife and 1 from the second. I am very attached to all my children."
Well, it's wonderful to see Ismail Darbar supporting his kids in their personal decisions and no wonder both Zaid and Gauahar will be on cloud nine. The couple never skips a moment to give us major couple goals with their beautiful pictures and stunning dance videos. For instance, on September 18, 2020, Gauahar Khan had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared an adorable picture with Zaid Darbar. In the picture, the two could be seen twinning in black, while Gauahar had looked gorgeous in her black and white kurta-salwar, Zaid had looked dapper in his all-black kurta-pyjama. Along with picture, Gauahar had written "Dua mein yaad rakhna! #Jumma what is Zaid telling me to make me smile??? Batao ... @zaid_darbar #NoOtherLikeYou #Gaza" in the caption.
