The plot of It: Welcome to Derry

It: Welcome to Derry is an American supernatural horror television series, which was released on October 26, 2025. The show is a prequel to the two blockbuster films, It and It Chapter Two. The plot of the series begins when an Air Force officer, 'Leroy Hanlon', moves to 'Derry' with his wife, 'Charlotte' and their young son, 'Will'. What had to be a new and fresh beginning, soon turned into a nightmare, when children went missing, red balloons appeared and an evil presence surrounded the town. As the show moves forward, viewers will realise how the town was cursed by a creature, which feeds on fear.

It films are based on Stephen King’s novels

Stephen King’s novel, It tells the spooky story about seven kids (Loser's club) in the town of 'Derry', who face an ancient, shape-shifting evil that often appears as 'Pennywise' the clown. The 2017 and 2019 films focused on the two major parts of the novel, which are the children's fight and the adults' return. The TV series, It: Welcome to Derry goes back in time and is set in 1962. Unlike the films, the TV series is expected to focus majorly on the town, people and the history of the monster.
