It: Welcome To Derry, the chilling horror series of HBO and MAX, has been in the talks for a while now. As per Variety, within the first 3 days of its release, the series garnered more than 5.7 million views. And now, the third episode is out. The third episode is titled as Now You See It, and it was released on November 9, 2025, while in India, it was released on November 10, 2025, i.e., today. Amid the release of the third episode, we'll look into what happened in episode 3, and what the audience's reaction was to the third episode of the horror series, which is set as the prequel to the IT movies, directed by Andy Muschietti.
It: Welcome To Derry's is set in 1962, Derry, which expands the 'King of Horror' Stephen King's scary world. The first episode, The Pilot , was released on October 26, 2025, while the second episode was dropped on October 31, 2025, on the occasion of Halloween, despite each episode being scheduled to be released on Sunday. Well, now that Halloween is over, the series is back to its old schedule, with each episode releasing on Sundays until December 14, 2025. The third episode was dropped on November 9, 2025, and thus, let's delve deeper into the dark world of Derry, as the secrets are being unfolded. But last things first, as episode 3, Now You See It, has a Stranger Things-like climax, as far as felt by the viewers.

Episode 3 began in the past with young 'Francis Shaw' (future General Shaw) at a carnival, who, in exchange for water, traded his slingshot to a Native American woman, 'Rose', and the exchange brought him eerie visions that hint at something darker in Derry. Well, the present-day scene showed 'Lily' being in Juniper Hill Asylum and being in guilt for 'Hank's' imprisonment. 'Hank's daughter 'Ronnie', ousted in school, met 'Lily', and the latter shared how she had a vision about a monster who killed their friends. 'Ronnie' and 'Lily' bonded over their shared experience and decided to get photographic proof of 'Pennywise's presence.

It: Welcome To Derry's third episode then features 'Dick Hallorann', a telepathic, to investigate the mysterious happenings in the city of Derry. During the helicopter ride, 'Dick' had a vision of some people floating in the air, who were the victims of IT. On the other hand, 'Rose' was seen in her older self, warning her son not to be involved in the car wreck incident, which had a link to the 1935 Derry massacre. Then, the young group had their own investigation row with a new member, 'Rich'. The kids' group, at night, goes to find evidence of the presence of evil in the town. And the ride around the cemetery at night became horrifying with the kids encountering a creature, whose glimpse was captured by 'Ronnie' and later being discovered as a clown, meaning 'Pennywise'.

To mention, episode three's pace seemed looser than the other two episodes. While the climax felt chilling, Stranger Things fans found it nothing new, and the CGI-created creature was tagged 'poor' by the audience. To mention, episode 3 surely built the bridge and made it stronger, allowing us to walk ahead in Derry's darker world. There will be another five episodes ahead to discover what the ultimatum is, while 'Pennywise's hint in every step is surely interesting. The addition of military involvement and social issues like racism and trauma remained loosely attached, as felt by the netizens.

As per one of the watchers, "Muschietti needs to hire someone else to approve the CGI. He doesn't have an eye for it. Bad CGI ruins everything he's involved with, and I'm sick of it." Another one from the audience felt, "I'm enjoying the show, but I think this episode was poorly directed. Why do the CGI transition from young to old? There HAS to have been a better way to visually connect the two actors to being the same person. I think that shows a lack of imagination, which makes me less charitable to the graveyard shots."
