It: Welcome to Derry has been grabbing the attention of audiences lately. With the episodes dropping each Sunday, viewers are now eagerly waiting for the scary clown, 'Pennywise', to appear in the action. Episode 5 of the horror series was dropped on November 23, 2025, for the UK viewers, as reported, and while the last four episodes have successfully built up the tension with hints of the clown's presence, now viewers are wondering when the scary clown will take action.
Episode 5 is named Neibolt Street, and as previously we have seen, the military team of Derry was asking about the ways of Derry woods, the place 'Neibolt' was mentioned, which gave us a mere idea that episode 5 may actually provide us with 'Pennywise's first glimpse. So, let's dive deep to know exactly when we will be provided with the first glimpse of 'Pennywise'. As per The Daily Record, the viewers will no longer have to wait to see the scary clown, who was first introduced in Stephen King's 1986 novel.

Well, through the first four episodes, the viewers got hints about 'Pennywise's presence in Derry, and before episode 5, it was seen that the children and the military were planning to dig an ancient burial to capture the scary creature of Derry with the help of the gifts of 'Dick Hallorann'. Now, in episode 5, they will be seen descending on the town sewers, and right there, the audience might get the first glimpse of the clown, 'Pennywise'. It: Welcome to Derry is set in 1962 Derry, 27 years before the main sacry events took place in the original It films. The series drew inspiration from the interludes of Stephen King's It novels, through the eyes of 'Mike Hanlon'.

Bill Skarsgard, who was the iconic 'Pennywise' in the 2017 film, It and its sequel, It Chapter Two, is reprising his role as the scary clown in the series. Bill Skarsgard has been a part of several dark roles through his acting journey, but when he was offered to play the role of 'Pennywise' again in the prequel series, he was a bit hesitant, as shared by co-creator and executive-producer Andy Muschietti. Talking to SFX Magazine, Andy said that when they were discussing the storyline Bill Skarsgard looked a bit hesistant with returning as the scary clown because it's something that he did in the past, and for someone who takes his work as a form of art is understandable why he would be hesitatnt, since it would require him to live in the head of that character. He said:
"Because, obviously, for someone who takes his work and his art so seriously as he does, it takes a toll to live in the head of those characters for a long time."

While Bill Skarsgard's salary for It and It Chapter Two was not revealed, now that he has a prominent career, it's understandable that he has possibly asked for a massive paycheck. While not confirmed, it was reported that for the series, he had been paid something around USD 4.8M to 6.4M.
