Ozzy Osbourne, aka the beloved ‘Prince of Darkness’ and Black Sabbath frontman, bid adieu to the world in July 2025, days after his farewell performance at Birmingham’s Back To The Beginning concert. As the world mourns the loss of the ‘Godfather’ of heavy metal, it seems the battle of bands refuses to die down. Roger Waters, the frontman of Pink Floyd, has ignited a storm of controversy with his blunt remarks about Ozzy Osbourne, dismissing the late singer’s legacy and mocking his music, even calling out his stage antics. Now, Ozzy’s son, Jack Osbourne, has openly slammed Waters for the same.
Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters sparked outrage after his recent comments on Ozzy Osbourne. Speaking on The Independent Ink podcast, Waters dismissed the Black Sabbath frontman’s legacy as a rock legend when discussing his music. He even went on to ridicule Black Sabbath’s dark performance style, sneering:
“Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him, in his whatever that state that he was in his whole life, we'll never know. Although he was all over the TV for hundreds of years with his idiocy and nonsense."
Speaking about the late rock legend’s decades-long musical career, Roger Waters labelled them as ‘idiocy’, adding that he didn’t care for them. He even mocked Ozzy’s iconic stage pose, where he stuck out his tongue, sneering at his theatrical stage antics. He added:
"The music, I have no idea, I couldn't give a f–k. I don't care about Black Sabbath, I never did, I have no interest in.... 'wahhhh!!!' (doing an impression of Ozzy by sticking out his tongue) and biting the heads off chickens or whatever they do. I couldn't care less."
When corrected that Ozzy had bitten the head of a bat, not a chicken, Waters doubled down, saying, “Oh my god, that’s even worse.”
Waters’ recent remarks on Ozzy Osbourne stood in stark contrast to the wave of heartfelt tributes that poured in after Ozzy’s death in July at the age of 76. The Comfortably Numb singer’s harsh words didn’t sit well with the late singer’s family. His youngest son, Jack Osbourne, wasted no time firing back on Instagram. He wrote:
"Hey, Roger Waters - f–k you. How pathetic and out of touch you've become. The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bulls–t in the press. My father always thought you were a c–t - thanks for proving him right."

Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary ‘Prince of Darkness’, was hailed as a trailblazer of heavy metal. From his Black Sabbath days to his solo career with hits like Crazy Train and Mr. Crowley, Ozzy reshaped rock forever.
Ozzy Osbourne left global fans in tears with his vow to keep making people smile until his final day. Despite worsening health battles, including Parkinson’s and heart complications, he gave the world one last gift with his Back to the Beginning concert. Aware that the end was near, Ozzy performed through severe pain, refusing painkillers so he could feel every moment.
Even after his passing, Roger Waters’ feud highlights a generational divide between the two rock icons. Unlike Waters’ progressive political voice that often rails against pop culture, Ozzy Osbourne is remembered as a chaotic, raw, and authentic force of heavy metal. But for Ozzy’s billions of fans and his family, the legacy speaks for itself.
