Jacob And Co Creates Rs. 13.7 Crore 'Vantara' Custom Watch For Anant Ambani, Studded With 397 Jewels

Anant Ambani does not need an introduction; Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani's younger son is a well-known figure. Recently, the businessman has been in the headlines for turning his passion project, Vantara, into one of the most attractive tourist destinations in India. And now, his passion project has met his love for exclusive pieces and watches in a collaboration with Jacob & Co. 

Jacob & Co creates a custom 'Vantara' inspired watch for Anant Ambani

Anant Ambani's love for watches is no secret. The businessman loves a good watch and is often seen sporting a timepiece worth more than a person's annual salary. And now, Jacob & Co. has turned its magic wand on the businessman, giving him the best of both worlds by combining his love for watches with Vantara, creating a USD 1.5 million timepiece in service of something greater. 

For the unversed, Jacob & Co's 'The Vantara' was created as a tribute to Anant Ambani's Vantara. A passion project and initiative by the businessman that shelters thousands of wildlife, providing them with the best care, protection, and space. Vantara is one of the world's most ambitious wildlife rescue and conservation initiatives, based in Gujarat, India.

'The Vantara' by Jacob & Co features 397 gemstones

The custom beauty features a hand-painted figurine of Anant Ambani himself, wearing a blue floral shirt, symbolising stewardship and responsibility. Surrounding him are finely detailed depictions of a lion and a Bengal tiger, representing the wildlife that Vantara is dedicated to protecting. The dial also features an elephant and 'Vantara' etched in gold, adding further beauty to the piece. 

The watch has been completely bejewelled in green camouflage gemstone motif, crafted from demantoid garnets, tsavorites, green sapphires, and white diamonds. According to the reports, the watch features 397 gemstones totalling 21.98 carats. The detailing on the watch is impeccable, giving the watch a luxurious feel and an essence of the initiative Anant Amabani has started with Vantara.

Vantara, meaning 'Star of the Forest', is an initiative founded by Reliance Industries and Anant Ambani. The massive wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre is located in Jamnagar, India, and aims to rescue, treat, and conserve distressed animals. The centre offers conservation-breeding programs for endangered species, serving as a 'Noah's Ark'. Spread over 3,000 acres within the Reliance Jamnagar complex, the centre houses over 150,000 animals from more than 2000 different species.

The facility is one of the most well-equipped centres, with specialised elephant hospitals, MRI/CT scanners, hydrotherapy pools, and extensive care for big cats, reptiles, and more. Vantara was inaugurated in March 2025 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It has since become one of the biggest tourist attractions for people from across the world. Not only that, but the facility also offers a safe haven, promoting ecological sustainability and wildlife welfare.

Over the years, we have seen Anant Ambani sport some of the most beautiful timepieces from Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, and Rolex. According to reports, Anant's collection is worth over Rs. 200 crores, with the Grand Master Chime by Patek Philippe among the most expensive pieces. The watch is so incredibly rare that some reports even claim another piece of the same model was recently auctioned for USD 31 million. Another timeless piece in his collection is the Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon, a watch priced at an estimated Rs. 1.9 crore.
