Jamnagar Airport Gets International Status For 10 Days As Celebs Arrive At Anant-Radhika's Bash

Asia’s richest man and one of the prominent names in the world of business, Mukesh Ambani and his wife, Nita Ambani, are hosting a three-day grand pre-wedding soiree for their beloved son, Anant Ambani. The young lad, who is the Director of Reliance Industries, is soon going to tie the knot with Radhika Merchant. The couple is reportedly going to get married in July 2024. Ahead of Anant and Radhika's wedding, Ambanis are hosting pre-wedding festivities for the lovely couple in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Jamnagar Airport has been declared an international airport for Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities

As per a report by The Hindu, the Jamnagar airport has been declared an international airport for the next 10 days, starting from February 25 till March 5, 2024. This step was taken because the Ambanis have invited several dignitaries from all around the world to be a part of Anant-Radhika’s pre-wedding soiree. Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, Ivanka Trump and her family, and Rihanna, are among the bigwigs from around the world who graced this extravaganza.

The Union Government’s Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Home Affairs have also provided the necessary resources to set up a Custom, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) facility at the airport. For those who don’t know, Jamnagar Airport is a defence airport, where civilian flights are already allowed and has around six regular civilian flights on a daily basis. 

The ground staff at the Jamnagar Airport has increased manifolds

Moreover, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has built a separate passenger building for the gala. The space, which could earlier only accommodate 180 passengers at a time, will be able to hold up to 360 people at once. Housekeeping staff, security personnel, and ground-handling agencies’ strength were also increased at the airport.

IAF has deployed more military personnel for foreign dignitaries

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has even deployed more military personnel at the Air Traffic Control tower as foreign dignitaries such as Qatar’s PM, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Saudi Aramco’s chairperson, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Disney CEO, Bob Iger, American billionaire businessman and chairman of BlackRock, Larry Fink, Bhutanese King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, former Australian PM Kevin Rudd and former PM of Canada, Stephen Harper, are expected guests at the Ambanis festivities.

IAF has opened its sensitive area for the Ambanis gala in Jamnagar

As Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani is hosting an extravagant soiree for his youngest child, Anant in Jamnagar, the IAF has even permitted flight operations and access to its sensitive “technical” area as well. As per an airport official, up to three aircraft can be accommodated in the technical area at a given time. The official further stated that on Friday, March 1, 2024, a total of 140 aircraft movement, including arrival and departure, was expected at the Jamnagar airport.
