The much-awaited and anticipated trailer of Jana Nayagan, starring Thalapathy Vijay has been officially released by the makers, and the fans can't stop talking about it. For those who do not know, it will be Thalapathy's last film before he steps away from cinema. The Tamil film, directed by H. Vinoth, is all set to hit the theatres on January 9, 2026.

The official trailer of Thalapathy Vijay's last film, Jana Nayagan was released on January 3, 2026. The 2-minutes and 52 seconds trailer opens with 'Vetri Kondan' (Thalapathy Vijay) in a grounded avatar. He was once a police officer, but now lives a quiet life. However, his life is disturbed when a large group plans to unleash violence in the nation. This makes 'Vetri' stop the danger while protecting his daughter. The major highlight of the trailer is the entry of Bobby Deol, the antagonist of the film.

Jana Nayagan brings together a strong and powerful cast. It is worth mentioning that the Tamil film features Thalapathy Vijay, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Narain and more. The film is directed by H. Vinoth and produced under KVN Productions. The film will be released on January 9, 2026, during the Pongal festival.

Is Jana Nayagan a remake of Bhagavanth Kesari?

Since a while, Jana Nayagan has been generating a lot of buzz online. And multiple fans have been speculating that the Tamil film is a remake of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari. A few days ago, the director of the film addressed rumours around the remake of the film and requested the audience to watch the film with an open mind. It is worth mentioning that H. Vinoth neither denied nor accepted the rumours of a remake.

While some loved the trailer and hailed its narrative and visuals, others found it as a useless remake. One user commented, "Mass visuals & Strong dialogues.
