Shefali Jariwala's death left the entire nation shaken, as the family and friends of the deceased actress mourned the tragic loss. Celebrities have also come forward to offer their condolences. Amid that, it was actor, Varun Dhawan who called for respect and privacy for her family during these difficult moments. Now, the Homebound star, Janhvi Kapoor, has reacted to Varun Dhawan's plea and shared her support with the actor.
Several celebrities, including Mika Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, and her Bigg Boss 13 co-participants, Shehnaaz Gill, Mahira Sharma, Paras Chhabra, Hindustani Bhau, Arti Singh and Rashami Desai, have expressed their shock and sadness over Shefali Jariwala's sudden demise. However, the media coverage and the lack of privacy have triggered a massive backlash from a section of the community. Amid that, Varun Dhawan has also expressed his dismay with what has been going on and urged the media to respect the mourning family's need for space.
Now, his Bawaal co-star, Janhvi Kapoor, has also reacted to Varun's post and shared her support. It was on the night of June 29, 2025, when Janhvi Kapoor took to her official Instagram handle and reposted a note shared by Varun Dhawan. The actress shared the note on her story and expressed her relief that someone finally spoke about what was happening. Sharing Varun's post, asking the media to give families space and respect their privacy during times of grief, Janhvi wrote:
"Finally, someone said it."
Varun Dhawan took to his Instagram account on June 29, 2025, and requested the paparazzi to be sensitive while covering the death of a celebrity. The actor revealed that he doesn't understand why someone would poke into someone's grief. He added that everyone looked extremely uncomfortable and such intrusions were not benefiting anyone. He was quoted as saying:
"Again, one more passing of a soul being insensitively covered by the media. I just don't understand why do u have to cover someone's grief. Everyone looks so uncomfortable with this. How is this benefiting anyone? And my request to my friends in the media, this isn't the way someone would want their final journey covered."
While Varun Dhawan didn't name anyone directly, it was clear what he was referring to, as the note came right after Shefali's unfortunate death. Janhvi also took to Instagram to show her support for his message. Varun asked the media to show a little more sensitivity during such harsh periods and requested that a person's last journey not be covered in such a manner, as no one would want that to happen to them.

On June 27, 2025, Shefali Jariwala was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, Parag Tyagi, reportedly after suffering a cardiac arrest. According to PTI, she was, unfortunately, declared dead on arrival. The Mumbai Police sent her body for a post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death. After the autopsy, police officials revealed that the cause of death had been 'reserved'. According to certain reports, Shefali fainted due to low BP. However, further details are yet to be revealed. Shefali's last rites took place on June 28, 2025, and Parag immersed her ashes in the sea on June 29, 2025.
