The diva has ruled over a zillion hearts, courtesy of her charismatic personality, million-dollar smile, acting prowess and whatnot. On the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor has emerged as the newest sensation, who is looked up as a Gen-Z inspiration. The diva, with tons of commendable films in her kitty has garnered widespread fame within a short while. We recently came across a video featuring the two generations-apart actresses, which has become a huge matter of debate.
Taking to the discussion portal, Reddit, an internet user recently shared a clip of Madhuri Dixit and Janhvi Kapoor as they were seen sharing the stage together for the first time. While the actresses are surely set generations apart, it was their love for dance which brought them together. In the clip, Janhvi, clad in a sultry red gown, could be seen trying to match steps with Madhuri Dixit, who looked beautiful in a green saree. The duo were seen flaunting their adaa on the latter’s iconic song from Devdas, titled Maar Daala.

As soon as the video was shared, eagle-eyed netizens took note of the same and immediately took to the comment section and pooled in their witty reactions. It would be safe to say that a strong section of internet claimed that it was beyond any point to compare Madhuri and Janhvi. Moreover, a few others bashed the latter for her apparent audacity to imitate the legendary actress’ moves. While one user commented, “I don't get it, Janvi is not attractive. Here clearly, we can see comparing watermelon to grape seeds”, another netizen penned, “I can see JK trying but she's trying too hard, Madhuri without any extra muscle moving is giving it all.”

Madhuri Dixit’s love for classical dances are not unknown to anyone. In her prolific filmography across decades, the diva has quite frequently treated her fans with some of the most graceful dance moves. Previously, in an interaction with Bollywood Bubble, Madhuri Dixit narrated how people used to judge her for not giving up on her dance despite being a mother to two sons. In her words:

For the unversed, Janhvi Kapoor is the daughter of the superhit actress, late Sridevi. In one of her earlier interviews on the AajTak Agenda event, the star-daughter talked about being constantly compared with her mother, and shared how she deals with such a great pressure like this. She mentioned:
“I don’t think anybody can do what she did, anybody is as versatile as she is. The level at which she would operate I don’t think anybody can cope with that leave me alone! But in today’s generation, the actresses get compared to her dance moves, every step, every performance. My sister and I would initially stress a lot and get very nervous, overburdened with the baggage. But then I began to understand that I’m being compared to Mumma so that’s the standard!”
