Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Janhvi Kapoor had opened up about how being a part of a star family used to give her a sense of inferiority complex. Even after doing good work, she used to think that she didn't deserve them. She also talked about those people who judge others for both coming from a privileged family and also those who don't, and called them 'hypocritical'. She added that without paying any heed to it, she would keep on doing her work until she wins them over. The actress had said:
“You know it’s kind of ironic because what they are asking for is to not be judged for not coming from a place of privilege. But many of them judge you for coming from a place of privilege so it’s slightly hypocritical. But I’ll take it all with a smile because I’m getting to do what I love to do. So if like three out of the ten people have a problem with where I come from then I’ll keep walking till I win them over."

Further, in the same conversation, Janhvi had said that she used to face huge trolling from her childhood days because of her parents. She mentioned that whatever she used to do or wherever she used to go, some people used to give the whole credit to her parents. Due to this, the actress had then created a complex in her brain that she wasn't doing the things that she deserved. Mentioning that because of these comments, whenever someone used to ask her for a picture, her late mom, Sridevi or dad, Boney's image used to flash in front of her. She had added:
"Right from school, they’ve always been people who’ve said that anything and everything you get in life is not because of yours but because of your parents so somewhere that’s I think had created a complex in my brain that I’m not deserving of anything even if I do well. It’s a thing that you always live with a little bit subconsciously and it’s not that tragic but it does make you look at things a certain way so for a long time I did and I think that I am still dealing with it. Sometimes when people ask me for a picture I still think in my head that it is because I am Sridevi’s daughter or like dad's (Boney Kapoor) daughter.”
On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in her recently released film, Good Luck Jerry.
