Janhvi Kapoor Opens Up On The Sensational Headlines About Her, Says, 'They Make Me Look Bad'

Late actress, Sridevi and filmmaker, Boney Kapoor’s elder daughter, Janhvi Kapoor prefers to keep her private life under wraps. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Janhvi made her Bollywood debut with the film, Dhadak in 2018. However, despite being a private star kid, the actress is always under the constant media spotlight. Janhvi is a fashionista, and the stylish actress makes heads turn wherever she goes.

With every passing day, Janhvi has been being compared to her late mother Sridevi and trolled about nepotism and her bold fashion sense. However, she never lets it affect her, proving that she's a diva, who will continue to shine no matter what. Now, in a recent interview, the actress talked about the same and revealed how she copes up with the sensational headlines about her.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Janhvi Kapoor opened up about the way the media makes her look and said that she is always baffled by the headlines. The 25-year-old actress revealed how she doesn’t get disappointed in people anymore and added that she's made to look bad in the headlines to make it sensational. Talking about the same, she said:

“It never gets old. I’m always baffled by some of the headlines that come out. I’m baffled at how what seems like an honest interaction becomes an opportunistic way for someone to make a headline or make you look a certain way. More often than not, you’re made to look bad because that’s what gets the headlines. But I’ve learnt not to be disappointed in people anymore."

Janhvi also shared that there was a phase in her career where she felt cheated, as even an honest interaction gave people an opportunistic way to make a sensational headline about her. Mentioning that only negative headlines sell these days, the actress said that she understands that people are doing their job. In her words:

"There was a phase where I’d feel cheated by what felt like normal interactions. However, everyone is trying to do their job, and unfortunately, people have been rewarded in this profession for far too long for being negative and putting out negative headlines, so they think that’s what sells. That’s just the world we’re in now.”

When Janhvi was asked if it affects her or takes a toll on her, she revealed that earlier it used to. Adding that people are going to criticise her either way, she mentioned that she couldn't control it. However, she also stated that she wants to be a truthful person and added:

“It used to, but now it doesn’t. People are going to criticise you no matter what. I think that if there is anything I can do to control any of this, it is by trying to be as candid as possible and try to take ownership of who I am as a person, as much as possible. So, if I’m going to be criticised either way, I may just be criticised for saying something that is the truth because then at least I’ll have that much to hold on to."

On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor will be next seen in the film, Mili.
