Janhvi Kapoor is one of the popular names in Bollywood in recent times. At present, she is busy promoting her upcoming film, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, co-starring Rajkummar Rao. During one such promotional interview, the 27-year-old actress opened up about heartbreaks in her life. Janhvi revealed that she experienced a romantic heartbreak only once in her life.
Recently, Janhvi appeared on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, The Ranveer Show and spoke at length on various facets of her professional and personal life. During the conversation, when the host asked if Janhvi had ever faced any heartbreak, she admitted to having undergone one. However, she added that heartbreaks are not just exclusive to romance. In her words:
“I don’t think heartbreak is exclusive to romance, it can happen with a lot of things. It can happen when you pin too many hopes on something, and expect a certain outcome and get very emotionally attached to that idea. And then things don’t turn out the way that you thought they would.”

Continuing her chain of thoughts, Janhvi said that she has been heartbroken due to failures in her career and romantically as well. However, what shattered her heart the most was when she lost her mother, Sridevi. For those unversed, the legendary Bollywood actress passed away due to accidentally drowning in the bathtub of her hotel in Dubai in 2018. Janhvi said:
“I’ve been heartbroken in my career, I’ve been heartbroken once, romantically, but I think my heart broke the most when I lost my mom.”
When Ranveer inquired if she had healed from the micro heartbreaks in life, Janhvi nodded yes. The 27-year-old mentioned that while she has healed from smaller heartbreaks, she is yet to heal from losing her mother. However, Janhvi has healed from her romantic heartbreak as the person, who broke her heart never left her life. In her words:
“Romantically, I did heal from that heartbreak because that person never really left my life, and that helped. And when you have objective clarity about why certain things happened. I think closure really helps”

Previously, Janhvi Kapoor confirmed her relationship with her boyfriend, Shikhar Pahariya, when she appeared on Karan Johar’s popular talk show, Koffee With Karan, along with her sister, Khushi Kapoor. She accidentally slipped in Shikhar’s cute nickname ‘Shiku’ during their conversation. More recently, Janhvi proudly sported a ‘Shiku’ diamond-studded necklace at the premiere event of Maidaan on April 9, 2024.
