Janhvi Kapoor Says Rajkummar Drank Betadine After She Suggested, Shares How Once She Misled Media

Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao are basking in the success of their recently released film, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi. The Sharan Sharma-directed movie hit the theatres on May 31, 2024, and since then, it has done a business of Rs. 20 crore. The lead actors of the film left no stone unturned in promoting their film. Janhvi and Rajkummar even appeared on the latest episode of Kapil Sharma’s Netflix comedy series, The Great Indian Kapil Show.

Janhvi Kapoor advised Rajkummar Rao to use Betadine to cure his sore throat

During their appearance in the show, the Mr. & Mrs. Mahi actors shared some unheard behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the set. In one of such candid revelations, Janhvi disclosed that her co-star, Rajkummar, easily trusts people and once even drank Betadine after she asked him to use the solution to cure his sore throat. Recalling the incident from the sets of their horror-comedy film, Roohi, Janhvi said:

“He believes people very easily. Once on the set of Roohi, he had a sore throat, and I told him that there is a medicine called Betadine and told him that you have to have it because it will cure your sore throat. Just because I said ‘You have to have it,’ he took it. So, you need to gargle with Betadine and not drink it. He trusted me so easily that he drank Betadine.”

Further talking about the incident, Janhvi recalled that the next day she had even inquired about Rajkummar’s health. The latter affirmed that he was feeling better post drinking half the bottle of Betadine. This revelation shocked Janhvi, who then asked him why he would drink the solution. In her words:

“Next day I even asked him, ‘How are you feeling?’ and he said, ‘Yes, it is cured completely.’ I asked him how many times did he gargle and he said, ‘No no I drank half the bottle.’ I was like, ‘Why did you drink it?'”

During the same conversation, Janhvi made another startling revelation. The actress mentioned that while she was promoting her 2021 film, Roohi, she deliberately stated that she did not want to work with Rajkummar Rao in the future. Revealing that it was a promotional gimmick, Janhvi added:

“They (the media) are always looking for a scandalous headline. So I thought the statement would make for a great headline and help promote the film. But I also explained why I said I didn’t want to work with him again. I feel he is a very guni actor. Unke saath kaam karke yeh ehsaas hota hai ki hum kitne nausikhya hai.”
