Japan's 63 Year-Old 'Princess' Relation With 31-Year 'Prince', Met Via Chance, MIL 6 Years Younger

A Japanese senior citizen lady, aged 63, named, Azarashi, got married to her 31-year-old boyfriend, which made her six years older than her own mother-in-law. The love story of the Japanese lady all started with a misplaced phone in a cafe in Tokyo. The couple call each other 'Prince' and 'Princess', and their romantic encounter has an entire story to tell.

Now, according to a report by a Japanese media outlet called, Chanto Web, Azarashi was married for more than two decades. She got divorced at the age of 48 and raised her child as a single mother. The senior citizen did try dating apps, had a couple of boyfriends, but then focused on her life as a single mother. She ran her own pet clothing business and also cared for many dogs. Here's how, the 63-year-old lady met her young 31-year-old prince.

63-year-old Azarashi's love story with her 31-year-old husband began with a misplaced phone

Azarshi was once at a Shinjuku cafe, reportedly in Japan, when she saw a phone lying on the sofa. This was back in August 2020 when she saw the phone in a Tokyo cafe. When the young 31-year-old man came searching for the same, Azarashi gave him the phone. Right after a week, coincidentally, they happened to be on the same tram, and they did recognise one another and soon exchanged contacts. They started talking on the phone for more than an hour each night. Azarashi told the media outlet:

"No matter what I talk about, whether it is work, daily life or hobbies, he understands. I could feel he was genuinely interested in me, and that made me happy.”

Azarashi, going ahead, shared that it was on her first date that she received a love letter from her young lover that read, "Please be my princess.” It was after a month of dating that they discovered each other's ages. Reportedly, Azarashi's son, who is married and has kids, is also six years older than her lover and has shown support for the relationship. Azarashi thought she and the young man, after the cafe incident, would never meet. Azarashi and her husband are very happy at the moment, and both have shown that age dynamics don't matter if the love is true in marriage. When her now-husband first came to the cafe to find his phone, she had politely given it to him and thought that it was the last time the two of them had actually crossed paths. However, she did not know that something else was also decided in her destiny.

She did note that the moment coincidentally they again met, their first conversation made them addicted to one another. Evening calls were completely a part of their routine, and both of them chattered for hours. She did confess to not being that great with phone calls but shared:

"From the moment we spoke on the phone, it felt like we were in love. I'm not very good on the phone, but when I was talking to him, time flew by."

63-year-old Azarashi's mother-in-law was not accepting their relationship

While Azarashi’s son, who is actually older than her husband by six years, supported the relationship from the beginning, her mother-in-law was not as accepting. She did question the choice her son had made in marrying someone who could no longer have children. However, Azarashi's lover did share that he had never wanted kids at first, but over time, the mother-in-law became accepting of the unusual relationship as her son continued to insist on getting married. Azarashi and her lovers' age gap romance drew attention. It was back in Christmas 2022, when Azarashi and her lover registered their marriage, and it has been three years since they got married. 

Both of them have been very affectionate towards one another, have been running a marriage agency together and also do household chores. Despite being married for three years, neither of them has yet stopped calling the other 'prince' and 'princess'. Netizens did observe that Azarashi looked confident, young, and was also financially fairly independent. They felt that she always deserved to be in love. However, among the online chatter, many were also worried that her young husband would one day leave her to find someone younger, prettier and more ambitious. Azarashi had shared that she was fine with whatever was decided in her future.

Azarashi thought that the young man would have been married

Azarashi and the young man, for their first date, had gone to Tokyo Skytree as per a report by the South China Morning Post. She was given a handwritten letter and shared how people commented that the young man may have been married. Both had promised one another to call each other 'Prince' and 'Princess' forever until they were married. Azarashi shared that her young husband showcased his driver's license and other details to prove that he was unmarried. He showed his real age to her, and then she also revealed her true age to him.
