Bollywood is back with a fun comedy film including slapstick and social-media-style humour. For those who don't know, the film, Jassi Weds Jassi hit the theatres on November 7, 2025, and is generating a lot of buzz because of its old-school rom-com genre. The film is directed by Paran Bawa and it stars Harshvardhan Deo, Ranvir Shorey and Sikandar in lead roles. Here's the review of the film.
The film, Jassi Weds Jassi is set in 1996 Haldwani, and it explores the chaos created by multiple people with the same name, 'Jassi'. The film explores the story of 'Jaspreet' (played by Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo), an earnest and foolish romantic boy, who is often referred to as 'Jassi'. He falls for 'Jasmeet' (Rehmat Rattan) and tries to win her heart in an old-school manner. However, it turns complicated when another 'Jassi' (Sikandar Kher) enters and creates confusion.

Apart from the main plot, the film also gives space for supporting plots. In the film, Ranvir Shorey plays the role of a saree-shop owner, who is irritated by prank calls and possessive misunderstandings, while Grusha Kapoor plays the role of a suspicious wife whose reaction adds humour to the film. Characters of Sudesh Lehri, Manu Rishi Chadha and others also add layers, fun and humour.

The best part of the film, Jassi Weds Jassi is its production design, which will take the viewers back to the '90s. The film includes rotary-dial phones, the cassette culture and more, which is nothing but nostalgic. Apart from this, the acting of Ranvir Shorey, Sikandar Kher and Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo add charm and makes the film watchable. While the film is made with good intentions, some of its weak points are evident. Even though, the first half of the film is strong, the second half becomes predictable and there are moments where the film lacks both humour and emotional depth.

While critics have shared mixed reviews on the narrative of the film, users on X (formerly Twitter) seem to have enjoyed the film. One user commented, "A beautifully crafted narrative with stunning moments. This film proves that love stories never get old." Another user wrote, "Every character brings charm and relatability. Jassi Weds Jassi stands out with its pure storytelling." A third user penned, "Laughter feels organic, emotions feel pure, and nostalgia hits right. #JassiWedsJassiReview is a film that wins you over scene by scene."

In short, the film is a decent one-time watch with fun and comedy-filled plot. While the film lacks emotional depth and can be predictable, the chaos between characters and strong acting by the lead cast will keep you hooked till the end. For those who want to relive the old-school romance era with the flavour of the '90s era, the film, Jassi Weds Jassi is a good choice for you.
